Blue River Holiday Packages

Whilst the building is dated, the room was clean and spacious. There is plenty of parking available and the restaurant on-site was good with reasonable prices for large servings. It was very busy on Friday night so I would suggest eating early. When I checked in I wasn't given any information about the Inn & Restaurant and there was no in-room information either. There is a guest laundry which I only found out about via the website. You have to pay at the reception desk and they will give you the key. If you have a room upstairs in the front block, it can a bit noisy when people are sitting outside in the evening. The air-conditioning unit in the room was so noisy I didn't sleep well the first night and the big window doesn't open. There was a small window on the opposite side of the room but it didn't let in much air and it was next to the out-door seating area. The front block also looks over a main road and the railway line, and it was noisy with the trains and emergency vehicles at times. The area surrounding is suburban with a large park behind which would be great for kids. The restaurant staff were very friendly, but the Inn owners not so much.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean. Breakfast was good and plentiful. While the motel is a few minutes drive from town, it sits astride the river and has a beautiful outlook over the river. This motel (given its age) competes with newer accommodation hotels (and higher priced) in the city area, but for us it was great value and would recommend to anyone wanting a value priced stay.
