We were visiting WI for a week to get away from the heat of AZ. The location of the house was EXACTLY what we were looking for; quiet and forest-filled, away from the crowds of downtown Dells.
Some notes to make for a more comfortable experience:
1. Please provide access codes to the guest the morning of their arrival. I've stayed in numerous vacation rentals. This was the first time where I'd taken a flight, sent a message to the owner, made a 1.5 hour commute and ARRIVED at the property, to still not have an access code!
The property owner lives out of state and had poor reception at the time of our check in. If it weren't for a neighbor being outdoors when we pulled up, we would've been playing telephone/message tag, JUST trying to get in. Not a great feeling when being far from home and weary from travel.
2. This property is 20 minutes from the EDGE of Downtown Dells. It is about 30 minutes to properties like Kalahari/Great Wolf and Wal Mart, so plan your day accordingly. Be mindful of deer on County Road B leading to the cabin. We are used to this but FYI in case you aren't.
3. The loft does not contain two twin beds; there are two mattresses on the ground that seem like they belong on an outdoor chaise lounge. The ceiling is very low and better suited for smaller children. We have a teen who is almost 6 ft tall and I am not a short person, so we did a lot of army crawling (my mom is physically disabled so she got the queen room). We made it work but did not sleep the greatest.
4. Although three people were specified in our reservation, we had enough towels for two.
5. There was no map of the campground so we never found the pond or canoe. There was no clear indicator of who the camp host or their contact information was, if we wanted to rent the canoe.
6. We were unsure where the delineation was between potable and non-potable water. We purchased bottled water for drinking/cooking and brushing teeth as we were advised to not drink the tap water, but info provided in the cabin stated that dishes could be washed in the tap water.
Overall, this home had everything one would need for a getaway to the Dells area. With the full kitchen were able to cook and grill out daily and again the property was beautiful.
If we had known of this property when we were still local to Wisconsin, we would have stayed long ago!
