The house is a charming rustic lakehouse, very clean and well-stocked. The view from the deck is gorgeous and we had fun fishing off the docks or out of the rowboat. My extended NYC family has been spending part of each summer in this area, where my grandfather was born and where we still have family, for 50 years, so it was great to find this awesome property so close to the action.
There wee a few inaccuracies in the description--although the website advertises a working fireplace (which we wouldn't have wanted during a heatwave anyway) and diving off the dock, the information binder at the property prohibited both. Also, the grill wasn't working but I never contacted the owner to give him a chance to address the issue, we just worked around it.
The biggest problem was the lack of AC, which had not been included in the description and which I never asked about--it never occurred to me that I might need AC in Vermont in August but in this time of climate change I will never make that mistake again. I was not the owner's fault but my oversight.
