So disappointing, room was not as nice as advertised, sheets on bed were all torn, finishes were awful, lacked lighting in the rooms and had to use phone flashlight to see, paint peeling everywhere, poorly patched holes everywhere, bathroom door jammed constantly as doesn’t sit flush. Front desk staff were very rude and condescending for no reason at all. Politely asked for a luggage bag tag to tag some laundry for collection.. lady rudely told me they didn’t have them while another staff member giggled at how rude she was to me and stood by and watched. My mother walked down 5 minutes later and another staff member gave her one without an issue as they were sitting right there on the desk. Woman was obviously just bored and had nothing better to do with her day than to stir some unnecessary drama. Clearly doesn’t like her job and want to be there. Will avoid these properties in future.

The Arcadian was great! It was very clean and the breakfast was excellent. My only complaint is that the bathroom was a little small and outdated, but the room was very nice. Parking was not cheap, but I appreciate that they had a garage, given its proximity to city center. I will definitely stay here again!

Interesting concept- interior motel feel
Staff at check-in were most helpful and friendly and I turned up at about 1 a.m. cool concept hotel with a funny drive up feel. Breakfast was a bit odd with awkward and silent people milling about. Maybe So background music would help the vibe.

Our stay was okay but definitely not as good as I had hoped. First off, the toilets are the kind you find at elementary schools--way too short and had that manual/industrial toilet flusher in the back so you had to lower the lid to flush. Secondly, the breakfast sucked. The options were very limited and they did not replenish the one good thing (fresh fruit salad). Third, I had some interesting conversations with the staff who seemed clueless about the nearby area and other sites in Boston (eg Harvard Square-- had never been there). They also did not know what the word "hypoallergenic" or "down" meant when I asked about the pillows and bedding; these seem like words they should know. Before I arrived, I called from the airport to ask if I could check in at 3:30 instead of 4:00 pm. They confirmed that my room was ready but said it would be $22 to check in 30 mins early. Seriously??? Obviously, I refused that "offer." There are no phones in the room to the front desk, so you have to walk to the front of the hotel to ask questions (and our room was way in the back of a very long corridor.) There is a lot of noise when someone else uses the water (flushing, showering etc). The a/c was on in our room, and we had no way of turning it off ourselves. It was also loud. The best thing about this hotel was that they had a machine that made sparkling water. Also, the beds were comfortable but seemed small for queen sized. Overall, I would NOT recommend it.

We did not realize and it was not well advertised that a room ‘without a view’ literally means it doesn’t have a window to the outside. The only window in the room is to the hallway where people can see into your room. A room ‘with a view’ costs significantly more to book and there are only a few rooms like that available in the hotel. We would not stay at this hotel again.

This is the worst experience I’ve ever had while traveling. I booked months in advance. When I checked in I was told the room wasn’t ready, no big deal because I was early. I left to explore the city and I receive a text message making it sound like I canceled the reservation. I called and said I didn’t cancel and asked what happened. I was told they had a “plumbing emergency” and had no more availability and wouldn’t be able to help me find another place to stay. I asked to speak to the hotel concierge, but it’s just a customer service line and they don’t give you direct access. I was horrified. It’s the day of at 5 PM now and I have no where to go for the next 2 nights. Mind you, I got online and they had my exact room available for double the price I booked it for. I called back and asked what that was about and they said it was a mistake, but it was extremely obvious what they were doing. I asked for a supervisor because at the very least i was owed a phone call and assistance finding another place to stay. I was told that the customer service representative would have to place a claim for me and i would hear back from someone within 72 hours. It’s laughable how horrible this was. I had my mom with me and this was a trip for her 50th birthday. We were thrown out in peak season of Boston with everywhere averaging $800/night to stay. We had no other choice than to pay $1500 for 2 nights at a Fairfield suites. I still haven’t been called back by management. They’re awful.

This place has a modern vibe, conveniently located near the subway, and very clean. The problem is with the amenities that the property does not have, no swimming pool, no Jacuzzi, and no PARKING. I would have rated it 5 star but for the price, amenities were insufficient.

They list a breakfast but it is cereal and sweet rolls. Not breakfast in my book. Also they do not state a $45 over night parking fee as well as $13 each time you leave the garage. Since there is limited food in the area you will have to leave the garage.

Rooms without windows!
While the reservation page indicated a "no-view" room, it was only upon check-in that the meaning of "no-view" was crystalized. The windows at the hotel point inside - into the hallway which ment that my entire stay was spend in a box without a window - because no one wants to open his window to the internal corridor inside the hotel. In addition, it wasn't clarify to me during check-in that you have to ask at reception to have your room cleaned, as a result I did not get room service for the entire stay.
