Loved our stay here! Excellent service. The food (in room and restaurant) was delicious! Must try the famous Boston cream pie 😉 loved the complimentary water, was a very nice touch. As it is a historical hotel the rooms are on the smaller side and you can hear the next door neighbours some what but the hotel is beautiful and worth staying at, loved the history. It is in an excellent location and what we felt was a safe area!

Waitress that served us at Last Hurrah could use some lessons on customer service. Very cold and unfriendly especially after we sent a beer back due to it tasting bad. Room was either stuffy or freezing cold when ac went on, never able to achieve a comfortable temperature for sleeping.

Mixed feelings about this stay
There was a strike going on at the hotel during our stay which was disruptive and I think management should have compensated guests with a reduction in the room price. Also apparently due to the strike there were workers there from out of state who really did not know what to do, so service in the restaurant was slow and not up to par for what was expected in this caliber of hotel. They were responsive to getting a refrigerator in the room(which had been previously requested) in a timely manner upon our arrival at 1am, they replaced the faulty shower head quickly and replenished supplies in a timely manner. The weekend rates were very high so our expectations were high and we were disappointed. The location of this hotel is excellent for walking to see the sites in downtown Boston.

Extremely old hotel in downtown Boston with charm and historical significance. However, these do not outweigh the high cost of staying in a hotel that is in obvious need of repairs and updating. Bathrooms are tiny, with paint chipping and peeling. No one mentioned the main bar is only open for private events and the restaurant no longer serves dinner. The remaining bar served lunch and dinner, but was always crowded and the food marginal. Depending on where your room is be prepared to be awakened around 2 am by city worker’s street noise. We expected much more for what we paid for 4 nights. We will not stay here on our next trip to Boston.
