Our room had hair in the bathroom in 3 different places (not ours), a broken hair holder and a pile of bobypins on the floor. Made us wonder if they even cleaned the room besides making the bed.

This was our third visit at The Colonnade after really enjoying our previous two visits. However I'm sad to say that it has changed, and not for the better. So much so that we won't be visiting again. The poor quality of the room for a four star rated hotel is very bad. We had two wobbly taps in the bathroom, the plug hole stop in the sink let water drain away, the bathroom floor hadn't been cleaned very well, there wasn't any pillow protectors on the pillows, the pillows were going yellow and was so unsupportive that they gave me a bad neck, the net curtain at the window had a hole in it, and the bulky air conditioning unit looked like something from the 1970s and had paint peeling off all over it! And the table at the window was scratched all over. We booked a superior room on our previos two visits, which is what we booked this time, so it appears that The Colonnade's standards have been lowered. When we questioned the room, the lady on reception said that had been upgraded to a preferred room. That's very questionable considering the condition of our room! The only two good things not to have changed is the two doormen who have been at The Colonnade for many years, and are such lovely guys. The best area of the hotel is the lobby, as our room definitely wasn't!

From Aurora at the front desk to the ease of parking to the gorgeous room and view to the 2 minute walk to the mall. It was EVERYTHING!

The hotel was in a great location. Right in front of the subway station I needed to commute to work. There was plenty of restaurante around the area and the shopping mall was located across the street. The area felt safe. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The property’s condition is pretty outdated and worn out. The hotel needs a renovation asap! The lights next to the bed were ringing when on and would turn off after 5 minutes. The lights would dim out constantly as if the power supply was not enough. The AC was LOUD I needed to keep the room temperature a little higher so I could fall asleep without the AC waking me up constantly. The side of the bed had bed clasps sticking out that I hit my leg with once. I kept avoiding it but it was hard to in the night when I went to the bathroom. When I first arrived the toilet water was mirky but after I flushed it the murkiness went away. Makes me wonder whether they didn’t clean the toilet. The bathroom walls and floor were dirty but it could just be because of how old the hotel was. Overall, I wouldn’t stay here for the same price I paid. I could have definitely had a better room for that price. There’s plenty of other hotels around the area that are more modern and cleaner.

First of all it’s a very nice property in a great location. Definitely upscale without being stuffy and not as corporate feeling as some of the bigger hotels like M or W. Front desk staff were exceptionally helpful. Aidan checked us in and get us a room with 2 doubles instead of the king we had reserved. Made a great first impression. My son lives in Boston so this will be very high on our list of options when we come to visit.
