Shocking secret extra fee of 30 a night not clearly informed. The check in person not only never explained how to use it or why it was being charged but was rude and dismissive when asked to explain. I have been to Marriott before and never experienced the feeling of being cheated. I will definitely consider other hotels in my frequent visits to Boston

Dated. For what we paid a Hampton inn would have been nicer as far as rooms. Outdated rooms , bathroom had hairs in shower. Outlet in bathroom so old. Felt stuffy and just a bad vibe. Hallways dirty and need fresh paint. Doors scuffed

Having stayed in the back bay area previously in the Fairmont, I can say that the Westin is far better in all areas.

Property was beautiful but the hotel staff was no help. I want to add that I did just call the hotel and whoever I spoke to at host services who picked up was extremely rude. From the start of the phone call before I even stated my issue she was very nasty. She then interrupted me and said if I knew the Massachusetts parking rules then I would know there would be a charge. When I responded and said that I am from out of state and therefore didn't know that she responded, "So you don't do any research before you come to Boston?" | am appalled by how this employee spoke and handled this situation. As someone who has been in the customer service industry for 15 years, I have never experienced such a harsh attitude from someone like this employee.

Was not able to check out at 3:00 am or settle our bill due to their audit so it ended up costing us a lot of money because thye took our payment form the credit card on file rather then us paying with US funds that we had brought. So we ended up having to pay the cdn amount with the exchange on our credit card. The hotel would not do anything to assist in this matter. Very disaponted as this is supposed to be a high end hotel..will never go back.

Beautiful view
We stayed in a room with a view of the river, and it was beautiful both day and night. This hotel offers many amenities but there is no in room coffee maker or mini fridge(maybe because it is a more upscale hotel?) It would have been nice to be able to make coffee in the morning before getting dressed and going out for the day. Room service is available and there is a Starbucks located in the lobby. Also, the mattress was not comfortable for neither my husband nor I. Everything else was wonderful and we had a memorable stay.

The physical building is still great. Everything else is mediocre, so it was not worth the money from me. The breakfast dining options remind me of other cheaper Marriott hotels. I was not satisfied with the dining options at cheaper Marriott hotels, and I am definitely not satisfied at more expensive similar options at the Westin.
