Situated in the village of Ganister, steps away from the Lower Rail Trail and the Frankstown Branch of the Juniata River, the completely remodeled Carriage House at Ganister is a cozy place that is centrally located for everything Central PA has to offer! State parks & game lands, Raystown Lake, National Historic sites, and PSU are all within 45 minutes. Or bring your fishing gear, bikes, and kayaks and enjoy the nearby river and trail! The single-floor living space is ADA-friendly for mobility.
The Carriage House at Ganister is bright and airy, with an open living space including a dining table for four and a full kitchen. Curl up in the reading nook while enjoying a favorite beverage or partaking in an afternoon nap. Use the full kitchen to cook your favorite meal after a day biking the Lower Trail, kayaking the Juniata River, fishing in Piney Creek, attending a Penn State game, or enjoying any number of activities the area has to offer.
Once you're ready to turn in for the night, drift off to sleep in the queen sized sleigh bed or in the bunk beds, which are perfect for the young or the young-at-heart.
The lower level is separated from the living space by a locked door, but is where the washer and dryer are located and is available for storage of any outdoor equipment you might wish to bring. You can also borrow our bike or rent one of our kayaks for $50 per kayak, per stay; we have 3 single kayaks and 1 tandem kayak. This space is also used by the owners and nearby guests.
Guests are able to access the entire Carriage House. The lower level is separated by a locked door as it is accessible to nearby guests and the owners via the garage door.
Looking for more space? Check out Ganister House, an historic stone farmhouse located only steps away!
The Carriage House at Ganister has recently been made available, so we appreciate your patience as we finish up minor items such as final trim painting, painting the stairs to the lower level, and organizing construction materials in the lower level (garage area).
