PLEASE NOTE: The prices listed are for 3 night bookings or more, for 2 night bookings prices can be provided on request. North Lodge is a beautiful country style property in the CENTRE of Brighton city (BN1), set on 1/2 acre of private grounds this secluded property has 2 double bedrooms with sumptuous furnishings and a twin room as well as a double sofa bed should you need more. The bathroom has a beautiful original Victorian roll top bath to soak away the day with traverteine floors. As you go down the original wrought iron spiral staircase to the ground floor, you have wooden floors in the kitchen with an aga cooker and granite work surfaces, the dining room has beams and a slate floor with a large country dining table for entertaining with French doors opening out into the garden. The lounge has a wood burner fireplace and full cable to while away your evenings. Good transport links allow you to explore the local area. Also I am having the map altered because North Lodge is depicted in the wrong location, it is on the junction of Highcroft and Millers road, up from where it is shown, and you cannot hear the trains at all. very private and secluded. Hope to see you soon.

Local Facilities: Other facilities in the local area are the use of the beautiful Preston park with the old Preston park manor to look around, for the more sporty there are tennis courts within a 5 minute walk, there are numerous golf course within a short taxi ride, the nearby marina offers fishing trips and sailing facilities, Brighton beach has all manner of entertainment, local sports facilities include an LA Fitness and a swimming centre. For entertainment, Brighton is considered one of THE liveliest towns in England with numerous clubs and bars within walking distance or a short taxi ride, so life in Brighton is never boring. For those looking for more culture Brighton has some of the best going with many theatres and cultural festivals. In fact Brighton has just about something for everybody!!

Further a field : Brighton is surrounded by the beautiful South Downs National park which has some of the most breathtaking views in England, there is a good bus service that will take around 20 minutes to transport you into the country with old pubs and stunning walks. Brighton station will transport you into the heart of London in just 49 minutes and run until late at night. p.s there is an additional charge for all 2 night stays which is available on request.

North Lodge Review
A very pleasant long weekend at North Lodge. Location is peaceful but well located, plenty of amenities nearby. The house is cute and full of character. The kitchen/diner is a particularly nice space with patio doors out to the pretty little garden with mature shrubs and seating area. The kitchen is very well appointed. The bathroom would benefit from a bin and unit/stand to put products/wash bags on when in the bath. A few hangers in both the double bedrooms would be handy. The beds are comfortable and there are plenty of towels provided. The third bedroom is tiny and is really only suitable for young children as the twin beds are very small. Outside, the house could do with some TLC to bring it back to top condition. The shrubs need tending/cutting back especially along the drive as it is narrow at one point and would make access/turning easier. There are slipped roof tiles (one fell onto the patio during our stay) which, if not repaired may result in water penetrating the building. The external paintwork is in poor condition and there is no door on the porch (unlike in the photograph) which, if it were replaced, would enhance the look of the property entrance. Also, the front gates are broken/neglected. If these were repaired it would make the property/garden secure (helpful with dogs)! Would happily return but the house deserves a bit more love and some repairs which would enhance it enormously.

BEWARE! Host was drunk when we arrived!
When my group arrived at the property, the host was totally wasted! He claimed that we were not, in fact, renting the property. The house had not been cleaned. The host became belligerent and attempted to drive away very drunk. Our host did not tender any sort of compensation for his behavior.

Great stay overall
The accommodation was excellent with the aga producing lots of warmth, ensuring the rooms were nice and cosy. The beds were very comfortable, so we all slept well. Its located in a quiet part of town with a lovely secluded garden/patio, which was handy for the dogs. We were greeted by Ian on arrival and he made us feel at home straight away.

Lovely base to explore Brighton! Approximately 25 min walk into centre. Conveniently located near a 24hr Tesco petrol station and by a great fish and chip shop! The owner is extremely helpful. All in all, a great little find!

This lovely house is exactly as advertised. Will definitely be returning again soon.
House is full of character, nicely set back from the main road. Was great fun cooking on an aga for the first time and a nice feature having a constantly hot oven in the beautiful kitchen in the winter. Looking forward to returning in the summer to enjoy the garden too

What a great house!
The house is beautifully decorated to suit the age of the property.lots of wood..floorboards, doors,chests.. mirrors etc. Kitchen is warm and homely as there is an aga..and it is well equipped....lovely large dining area. The lounge has 2 comfortable sofas and a wood burning fire.the weather sadly didn't allow us to use the lovely private garden area. The bedrooms were beautiful and comfy ..although the small twin room has no radiator. Bathroom is good although there is no separate shower and the roll top bath is quite high so not easy for older people, as is the wrought iron spiral staircase. The host was friendly and welcoming and on call for any advice about what to see and where to eat.i would happily stay there again.

6/10 Okay

David W.

The property was as we expected, the main disadvantage was that there is no downstairs WC.
Perhaps we hadn't checked the property particulars closely enough but the lack of a downstairs WC was a bit restricting. Also, personally, I would do away with the Aga which made the kitchen area too warm at times. The driveway access is quite tight and it is difficult to back out or turn around. Otherwise the house was tidy and clean and met our needs. The outside private space is good.
