Lovely hotel but some little things were never fixed despite requests like flashing phone light stuck on 3 nights, plugs did not work , half tv channels not tuned in … minor issues but they distracted and annoyed . Taxis wouldn’t come down road so had to walk to top of street . Staff really helpful otherwise and it’s great location

The hotel is nice and in a good location. The room was described as a deluxe double, what it didn't say was that it was an internal room with no window to outdoors so no natural light at all or air. It was very claustrophobic. The pillows were very uncomfortable, they were huge and felt like two on top of each other. The second night I put the cushion insert into my pillowcase in place of the pillow. I'd chosen this room thinking it was a bit of an upgrade from where we had stayed before at The Bristol Hotel. It wasn't the right choice for us. Maybe if you were just going to be there for one night or not in the room much.

Great location, service and stay.
The Clayton is perfectly situated for a weekend trip to Bristol. The hotel is very clean and tidy with really helpful staff. Our room was quiet, warm, cosy and very comfortable. With plenty of nearby parking and city centre location it’s easy to get about either on foot or otherwise. Having stayed in Bristol on many occasions I have to say that this hotel definitely comes recommended.

We liked the location. Great for walking around the centre, and for public transport to other areas. We had a nice big room, with a double and a single bed, but I'd have preferred a king size and a single. The double isn't quite big enough for 2! There wasn't enough storage. There was a wardrobe, but no drawers or shelves other than one in the wardrobe. I think there had been a fridge or a minibar but it had been removed and there was a pretty useless large cupboard where it had been. The room was quiet, and the air-conditioning was good, but it switched off at midnight. If we wanted it on overnight we had to get up to override the settings. The en-suite was good, with a nice shower. We didn't try the restaurant as there are so many other eating options nearby. It looked ok, with a varied menu, though perhaps not the cheapest (I think there are special offers available when booking eg 2 courses for £20, which would be good, but I'm not sure if you have to take that for every night of your stay). Reception was bright and roomy, with a bar and comfy chairs and there is a sports bar area down a few stairs.
