Treehouse With Hot Tub Close to Sunday River!

This authentic, luxury treehouse was designed by B'Fer Roth, DIY Network TV host of The Treehouse Guys and built by the Treehouse Guys.
Nestled in the woods on a quiet, private rd with no neighbors in sight, the treehouse is just 15 minutes to Sunday River Ski Resort, 5 minutes to Mt. Abram and 10 minutes to downtown Bethel. The treehouse sits 500' from North Pond and is abutted by 626 acres of Bucks Ledge Community Forest (7 miles of hiking/snowshoeing trails accessible from the treehouse).

The Ski Haus Treehouse is a truly magical experience that you will never forget. This fully insulated, four season treehouse is the perfect setting for a romantic getaway/honeymoon, family vacation, or fun weekend away. It will sleep four adults but it is small (300 sq ft) which may be snug for four adults. It is best suited for couples or couples with (up to) 2 children. It is equipped with a heat pump which provides heat in the cooler months and AC in the warmer months.

You will enter the treehouse with a set of 6 steps built into a boulder. As you enter the lower deck you will be in awe as you pass by a ski bar and cedar hot tub. The perfect apres ski spot! You will then go up the custom spiral staircase (12 stairs) to the front deck. Here you will see two trees growing up through the deck. These are two of the four trees supporting the house! You will enter the house to find a beautiful well stocked kitchen with everything you need to cook a fun dinner (pots, pans, olive oil, spices). To the left you will find a full bathroom (yes, there is full plumbing in the treehouse!) with a delightful rain shower head. Tucked away in a cozy nook you will find two very comfortable swivel chairs, a record player with classic records, a ukulele and a basket full of games with a game table (behind the ships ladder). If you feel like getting away to read a book or relax, there is a loft with a couch! The couch is very comfortable and can be made into two twin beds or one queen bed. All linens are provided. This loft is fairly small but can sleep two adults. The ladder to get to this loft is flush to the wall and may be difficult for some to climb. On the opposite wall you will find a large ships ladder leading to the master loft. This loft sits over 30' high in a canopy of Eastern Hemlock trees. This is a very stable ladder that is relatively easy to carry things up and down from. In the master loft, you will find a very comfortable queen bed with four pillows to choose from (memory foam and firm) and luxury sheets. You will be surrounded by 8 windows which are perfect for watching the snow fall or the autumn leaves drop from the trees. There are baskets under the bed for clothes storage and hooks on the wall. The "bedrooms" are not closed off from one another. The rear deck is the largest of the three decks boasting a hammock (which is perfect for watching the sun go down) and a bistro table for 2 for an evening glass of wine or meal. You will also find a tree going through this deck!

Building the Ski Haus treehouse has been a labor of love. It was designed to be a special place to bring joy to others and to allow space to reconnect. I hope that you enjoy this once in a lifetime experience in the trees!

Peaceful and Relaxing
Wow! We were amazed at this tree house from the moment we pulled up! The pictures are accurate of the property and Jenn has done an outstanding job making sure the necessary essentials are there upon arrival. We spent some time hiking our first two days (Bucks Ledge, Grafton State Park, Screw Auger Falls, Mystery Mountain, Maggie’s Nature Trail). On Saturday we hit the local breweries (Sunday River and Steam Mill). For dinner we ate in Bethel each night, all three places were great (Modern Barn, Watershed-wood fired kitchen, Elizabeth House). Highly recommend all those places as well as those hiking spots. We will definitely be back next fall to enjoy the autum colors!

Tremendous Treehouse
Choose this rental if you are looking for something different, relaxing and memorable. From my first interaction with Jenn, to my messaging after we departed, I felt like I had made a new friend. Jenn clearly is passionate about her property and her guests. She is kind, and she does everything to make your stay wonderful. The beautiful flowers in celebration of our 38th wedding anniversary show her personal connection with her guests. The treehouse itself is magical. The outdoor lights welcomed us and we found the property to be exactly as featured in the listing. The treehouse is small and yet it feels much bigger. The chairs are easy to sit in for hours, the bed is so soft and comfortable it's like being in a "nest" as my husband and I commented every morning. Just be aware that there is a ladder to the bedroom in the trees...we are 65 years old and we were able to manage just fine...taking it slow. Now you won't be able to watch TV since there isn't one, but you WILL enjoy the albums to play on the record player and the ukulele! I brought some chord charts and had a great time "learning." I have since even purchased my own ukulele! There is a large outdoor deck area, an outdoor "bar" and a hot tub. Unfortunately we had a couple of days of total rain and we did not use these fine amenities. Bring some books, enjoy nearby breweries and do not miss the Mineral and Gem Museum. Jenn has these things (and more) covered in her extensive house binder. Wonderful rental! 10/10

Amazing getaway amongst the treetop!
What an amazing accommodation!! My husband and I spent two days here for his birthday and our anniversary. A little getaway from the hustle and bustle right before the holidays. The treehouse was immaculate! Just as described. The place was clean, and I loved the way it was decorated. The bed was comfy and cozy, I loved the soft plush sheets. The host Jenn even thought of everything, from the fan under the bed (we brought a fan that we didn't even have to bring in), to the spices in the kitchen, coffee, french press, tea bags, and sugar/creamer. There were so many different areas to relax and spend time together on the property. The cedar hot tub was used several times, even in 15 degree weather. (Bring a robe to make it a little warmer going to and from the house and hot tub, although they are just steps away from one another, so not a big deal.) The records were a nice variety, and there were several board games to play. The kitchenette was the perfect size for the space, and very functional. It had everything needed from pots/pans/measuring tools, spices, oil, and more. We used the stovetop and oven several times. We came after the bad rain and wind storm that we had knocked out power throughout Maine, causing massive flooding. Our accommodation was not effected by this, but the property has a backup generator just in case. The treehouse was easy to find with the directions provided. We WILL be back again, hopefully in the fall!

Magical and memorable
My husband, 12 year old son, and I had a truly wonderful weekend at the treehouse. We took the opportunity to unplug (although the house does have wifi) and spent lots of time playing games, laughing and enjoying the sounds of nature around us. My son will be talking about this experience for years to come. The host was super quick to respond via email and very friendly and accommodating. Highly, highly recommend!

Great get away spot
Great place to get away and relax. The weather was not the greatest for our visit so we were not able to hike as much as we would have liked but really enjoyed staying and enjoying the great atmosphere at the treehouse. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to get away and disconnect.

Outstanding property
My wife and I had a great week staying in the treehouse! The place was very clean and exactly as described in the listing. We did not expect to find high end appliances, soft close cabinets/drawers, and little touches like spices in jars with magnets over the counter. We spent hours on the upper deck enjoying the breeze and quiet. Highly recommend if you are looking for a unique place to stay in the Bethel area.

Winter Wonderland Weeekend in the Treehouse
This was an amazing experience that we loved so very much. My fiance and future in laws did our first couples retreat in the treehouse and it was truly the best location we could have spent time together. A full weekend of rest, relaxation and quality time together in one of the most unique and gorgeous places I've ever stayed. Can't wait for the next time we can visit!
