The staff is very unwelcoming and poorly trained. The manager at the desk cannot smile. He is grumpy and very unwelcoming. The staff reflects this. Location is great. There is a stingy feel to the place.

Bad shower drain
Quaint hotel. Our room was one recently updated and very nice except for the shower. It has a bad drain design and we flooded the bathroom floor. They did send someone to clean the drain but you can’t unplug a bad design.

Grand old property that has seen better days, but we stayed in the wing whose rooms were renovated, so we were totally happy. And the hotel's location is excellent, walkable to the Danube and Vaci Utca. We especially liked the convenience of the Astoria subway entrance just outside the front door. Front desk staff was friendly & efficient. We'd stay here again.

It was hot when we visited. Air conditioning was non existent in our room. Fan provided finally on day 3 of 4 days. Very loud, on Main Street. It was nice to have 2 rooms. VIP access? What did we receive for that? No idea.
