Family holiday
We enjoyed our stay at the villa very much. Peaceful and tranquil, the pool area was gorgeous but the breeze in the balcony of the villa made it very pleasant during the heat of the day and the evening time. Hosts were charming, all amenities worked well…very enjoyable stay.

Amazing property
We were a family of 6 with parents, grandparents and 5 year old twin girls. In the words of the twins " this is amazing". Everything was perfect and the amout of things included with our stay was beyound anything we have seen before. Geraldene met us and explained everthing to us with a grand tour of the property. She was always available if needed and is an incredable host and made us feel very welcome. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxed stay with old world charm and modern conveniences. Steve and family, Canada

A wonderful peaceful, vineyard based holiday
We stayed for two weeks at the end of September. We expected mixed weather and that is what we had. The first week was cloudy but warm which gave us a chance to explore local cities like Braga and Guimaraes. The second week we had glorious sunshine and made the most of the swimming pool. The house has a lot of character with living accommodation over two floors with a spiral staircase, and the outside terrace or balcony was a lovely place to sit and watch the sunset. As someone in another review commented, the pool is quite a walk from the house down steps and cobblestone paths, and so it may not be suitable for people with mobility issues. However when you get there the pool is lovely. Having the pool house with the extra fridge, dishwasher etc was ideal for relaxed lunches. We could imagine teenagers using the two bedrooms in the pool house to get away from their parents - and vice versa! The vino verde from the vineyard was delicious! We were fortunate enough to be there during the vine harvest and were invited to join in harvesting the grapes. For us it was a once in a lifetime experience.

How can you not like a villa in a vineyard! The villa was exactly as described, plenty of space and clean. The kitchen had a very good range of utensils and was of a good size, the rooms were all good, and although there was no air conditioning that did not matter, there was a lovely cool breeze (the lack of mosquitos meant the windows could be left open). Would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to get away, relax in a beautiful location, the pool with the kiwi trees providing shade, the veranda on the first floor with breath-taking valley views, what more could you ask

A beautiful retreat
The Villa itself is very large with a lovely balcony overlooking the vineyards and the river. The swimming pool was heaven in the heat, and has an even better view across the valley. The setting is perfect for those who have car use and want something in the heart of the countryside. Nearest facilities are only a short drive away. The Vinho Verde they produce at the family vineyards that surround the villa is very nice too!

Stay with multigenerational family
Our group of 6 (ages ranging from 1 to 60 year old) stayed for 4 days during a heat wave. Geraldine was extremely helpful and available for any questions, making the check in process very easy. The house, as advertised, does not have ac, and we visited during a heat wave so the bedrooms were a little hot until the cold of the night set in. Perhaps some fans would help bring some of the coolness in for the very hot nights, even though these temperatures are usually for the country. The pool and views were amazing and we loved the number of available bathrooms for such a big group. Keep in mind that the access to the pool is very steep, so difficult for older guest and well as kids. Only suggestion would be to add a high chair for kids as there was a crib. We loved our stay and would definitely stay again.

Lovely house in fabulous location
This lovely granite house is in a fabulous location with spectacular views across the vineyard, down to the River Tamega and the valley beyond. The house was cool even when it was hot outside. The pool area was beautifully maintained and the swimming pool was a joy to swim in to cool down. We enjoyed sitting on the upstairs verandah at the end of the day, with a glass of vinho verde from the vineyard, watching the sun go down. We ate at several local restaurants and enjoyed the typical Portuguese dishes with a glass of wine at very reasonable prices. We found it an interesting area to explore and were delighted to come across small villages were time appeared to have stood still. Our ensuite rooms were clean and comfortable and the house was well equipped for the six of us. I would recommend staying here to discover a little of the real Portugal.

Large, traditional house set in the grounds of a vineyard, totally secluded. Property was spotlessly clean on arrival and well equipped. Owners very friendly and quick to respond to queries. Comfortable bedrooms all en-suite. Large reception rooms, however we spent most of our time eating outside or sitting on the veranda surrounding the house. Pool area set away from the house, however it is very pretty and large with plenty of space to sit or for kids to play. 10 minutes drive from nearest town with supermarkets, cafes etc and close to larger roads making visits to larger towns such as Guimaraes, Braga & Chaves very easy. Straightforward drive from Porto Airport. Would thoroughly recommend.

A beautiful haven
The villa is located on the upper side of a valley overlooking the River Tamega and extensive vineyards - the owners produce a very drinkable Vinho Verde and at just 3 Euros a bottle!!! The location is very peaceful. There's a terrace for breakfast and a first floor balcony for after dinner drinks and a clear sky full of stars. The four of us thought it one of the best villas we've ever stayed in, very well equipped and everything working properly . The villa was spotlessly clean. In the courtyard there is a fresh water spring, we stopped buying bottled water on day 2 and drank the spring water. The swimming pool is very well maintained and has a wonderful panoramic view. We would seriously consider returning here in the next few years. But maybe next time for 2 weeks. Thank-you Helena and Juliana!

Starting with 30” thick granite walls with h beautiful custom doors and windows. Then go to wonderful pool or swing softly in a hammy, you can’t go wrong. Comfy beds, nice bathrooms. Great furnishings. A keeper.

A bit difficult to find for the first time, though it is immediately off of the N206. Just be sure to spell it right -- e.g. Vila Franca and not Villa only one "l"). Best place to relax and watch the day go by with friends and family.
Our family reunion began when my dad wanted all of his 5 children and some grandchildren to experience northern Portugal with him. My siblings and their families flew in from Florida, California and Germany where we hoped for some fun and relaxation, but we received much more! Amazing memories that will last a lifetime. Every morning we were awakened by my dad with some hot coffee and the daily fresh bread he brought from the small town of Cavez... Then it was pool time where everyone grabbed some snacks and some wine from Vila de Franca and brought it down to the infinity pool for some sun bathing and swimming. After a few hours of pool time, which by the way has amazing views of the Tamega river and surrounding vineyards, we headed back up for a late lunch, and then back to the pool. We also made some time to visit Porto, Geres National Park, Santiago de Compostela, Vigo, Gimaraes, Fafe, Barcelos, Braga, and much more! Everything was within driving distance. I recommend staying here not just for the R & R but to experience the culture and to meet some of the locals of this region. They're incredibly nice and hospitable as are the owners Mariana, and daughters Helena and Paula. Vila de Franca will always be forever in our hearts.

Uma experiência maravilhosa no Vineyards Cerco dos Cerrados! Este alojamento local é como um pequeno boutique hotel, com todos os confortos e serviços de excelência. A casa é super acolhedora, com aquecimento central que garante todo o conforto, e a larreira tem um destaque à parte! O vinho verde oferecido é de ótima qualidade e as vistas para o vinhedo são deslumbrantes. A cozinha, com um aspecto renovado e super bem equipada, foi perfeita para preparar as nossas refeições, e a área externa com a zona de jantar e churrasqueira é o lugar ideal para os dias de verão. En lineas generales la casa está bien, es amplia, limpia y con mucho espacio exterior para disfrutar
No ha cumplido nuestras espectativas, ya que creiamos que tenía cuatro o cinco habitaciones. dos personas han tenido que dormir en la sala de estar de la primera planta, lo cual resta intimidad al espacio, que aunque son niños no dejan de ser personas. tampoco sabíamos que teníamos que compartir espacio común con otras personas en la zona exterior y los cuartos de baño de esa zona. Siento no poder llevarnos vino a España ya que nopodiíamos transportarlos por restricciones de vuelo en cuanto a bultos y peso. Lo sentimos mucho ya que el vino que nos dejaron estaba buenísimo. Muchas gracias por todos. La próxima vez seremos más especificos a la hora de reservar.

Heerlijk ruime rustige traditionele woning.
Fijn groot traditioneel huis. Zowel binnen als buiten schoon. Heerlijk groot en helder zwembad. Persoonlijke ontvangst prettig. Ondanks de warmte geen airco of ventilator gemist, deuren en ramen konden open blijven, er waren geen muggen. Schitterend uitzicht. Wel goede schoenen aan doen om bij het zwembad te komen, steil en niet echt naast het huis. Absoluut een aanrader!

SIMPLEMENTE, ESPECTACULAR.
Hace unos diez años que vamos de vacaciones a alojamientos rurales o de playa, con características similares: más o menos apartados del bullicio, bonitas, con una piscina lo bastante grande para 4 adultos y dos niños… Pues, de todos los que hemos encontrado ese tiempo, este es, sin dudas, el que mejor relación calidad-precio nos ha ofrecido. Quedamos maravillados con la ubicación, y encantados con las instalaciones: una casona señorial, con solera, fresca y amplia, entre viñedos. Tiene una cocina bien surtida, lavadora y secadora… La piscina es muy amplia (unos 9 x 4,5 metros; quizás un poco más), rodeada de césped, y con unas vistas magníficas; ideal para disfrutar los mismo al sol, que a la sombra de sus árboles durante horas. La “caseta” de la piscina es, en realidad, otra casa, perfectamente surtida, con todo lo necesario, y con su propia cocina, frigo, baños, etc. Tienen una barbacoa hecha con un tanque de 200 litros cortado al medio, que funciona muy bien, y que usamos varias veces. La muchacha que nos recibió es agradable, nos explicó perfectamente todo lo que necesitábamos sabes para no tener contratiempos. Incluso nos dejó su teléfono para que la contactáramos, si necesitábamos algo. La única pega es el acceso, con unos 2 kilómetros por una especie de camino de cabras; pero es el precio de estar rodeado de naturaleza. Sin duda repetiremos el año próximo.

Nous séjournons très régulièrement dans des locations de vacances pour les week end et vacances, et c est la première fois que nous sommes déçus à ce point d’une réservation. L’ambiance sur place est très pesante, avec un mobilier austère et peu de luminosité, au rdc aucune vue sur la nature mais sur une cour intérieure, partagée avec une autre habitation dont les voitures sont garées devant la maison, non précisé sur l’annonce. La toiture est remplie de nids de guêpes, et la piscine, est très en contre bas de la maison, ce qui ne facilite pas l’accès. Cependant le point de vue depuis la piscine est magnifique, c est le vrai atout de cette maison. Par ailleurs, un chien appartenant à des habitants sur la propriété, s est attaqué à notre chien quelques minutes après notre arrivée. Une expérience loin d être conforme à l’annonce, nous avons donc décidé 1heure après notre arrivée que nous n’allions pas rester, malheureusement la propriétaire nous à quand même facturer la nuit !

Foram dias relaxantes, em plena natureza com vistas maravilhosas e sossego garantido. A casa é muito charmosa, rústica, bem equipada e decorada. Nada falta.

Paraíso escondido entre vinhas
A casa é muito bonita, é um lugar bastante sossegado. Ficamos surpreendidos com a dimensão da casa, a piscina é excelente assim como o jardim envolvente que é imenso. Fomos bem recebidos pela Geraldine, pessoa bastante simpática e disponível. A única melhoria que apontariamos a esta casa é que os colchões estão a precisar de uma troca. De resto um local perfeito para ir com um grupo de amigos ou família e relaxar. Voltaremos com toda a certeza
