This is a Wonderful Waterfront Getaway for any Family to enjoy during anytime of year! Located on Lake Mitchell Canal with direct access to Lake Mitchell & Lake Cadillac. Just 1 mile west of Cadillac, 8 miles east of Caberfae Ski Resort, and just 2 miles north of M-55 near the Heart of the Manistee National Forest. Great for Summer and Winter Vacation Getaway! Lake Cadillac & Lake Mitchell out the back door for lots of Fishing, Boating, Canoeing, Kayaking, Ice Fishing & much more. Swimming in the water from your boat or a nearby public beach. Snowmobile Trail located 1 mile down the road. No wasting time loading and unloading sleds all day long. Just RIDE! Cadillac Snowmobile Festival just outside the front door. Top Notch SKIING & GOLF at Caberfae Resort (7 miles) & Crystal Mountian Resort (15 miles). (By the way staying at this Lake House is much nicer & less expensive than any small hotel room! Adventure Island Amusement Park with go-carts, bumper boats, water slides, mini-golf, & more (1 miles). Pine River canoeing, tubing, paddle board, rafting, & more (10 miles). Hiking & Hunting on the 1000's of acres of State land 1 mile down the road because it is located near the heart of the Manistee Forest. Steelhead & Salmon Fishing at Tippy Dam (15 miles). ORV trailhead about 5 to 8 miles away. Cross Country Skiing & Snowshoeing Morel Mushroom Hunting is some of the best in the area. Little River Casino (30 miles). We just had a short stay, simply a place to sleep. Main bed was squeaky, the water was slimy( too soft), and the bunk beds were difficult to make. Otherwise it was fine enough.

Blue Gill was great

Perfect “weekend” getaway
My husband and our kids(2 dogs) had an amazingly wonderful time. We got to watch baby robins leave the nest in the back one morning while enjoying coffee and the peacefulness of the neighborhood. It was super windy so we weren’t able to take the kayaks out but we did get some fishing done at one of the near by parks and off the back dock. One of the rainy days we enjoyed some good ol VHS classics(the collection is top tier). Definitely will be looking to stay again in the future.

House was nice, however, dont expect closets or anyplace to store your clothes except your suitcase on the floor. They need to hire a cleaning service to clean after previous renters leave. We found dirty frying pan in oven and food left in freezer. Bathroom floor needed swept and toilet was not clean. We were expected to clean house unless you paid cleaning fee when we left and I am sure it was cleaner than when we got there. Dont expect to be able to swim at this location because nothing was trimmed around channel. Had to fight weeds to put our kayaks in the water. Not really worth the price being charged.

Pros: - Host was responsive and quick - Big movie selection of old films to watch at night Cons: - Parts of the home were clean, others not. Yellow stains all over bed comforter and pillows, other people’s hair on pillows and couch, nightstands had not been cleaned, house smells strongly of mildew - You and your belongings will smell like mildew once you get home - No suggestions of things to do in the area

Great little cabin
Came here to do some ice fishing. Perfect little cabin for us, has all you need for such a trip. Access to the main lake just a few houses down the road, with the canal out back (which I'm sure is awesome in the summer).

Nice, clean place to stay in the water! Everything is as described, and it was perfect for a nice, relaxing getaway. It was a very nice touch that we were able to bring our dogs! That is hard to find! Thank you Dewayne for being a great host!

Nice location but not very clean
Location, ease of check in and communication was great. Guests should be aware that you do not pay a cleaning fee and so this is left to be done by prior guests. Items from the cleaning list were cleaned by prior guests, but any other surfaces not on the list were not clean-the place had not been dusted in likely months or corners vacuumed which makes the place seem much more dingy then advertised. Just adjust expectations accordingly for a rustic cabin.
