I was so excited to stay here, but we were thoroughly disappointed in the resort. It was still massively under construction, noisy, very dirty, and we had to walk through so much of it to get to our elevator for our room.
The resort is gigantic, and there is a lot of walking and a lot of food options, but so much of it was still not done and we were not able to utilize all of the amenities that we were expecting. It was a very very boring resort, with calm music throughout the entire place, no matter what area of the pool you’re at. There is zero entertainment crew, and nothing to do in the evenings, except one night, there was live music inside, but in a very small bar area with no room to dance. We had brought a speaker outside by the pool, and mgmt. came over and said it was against the rules & to use headphones. I had to turn it off & the other guests near us were mad that my music got turned off too. VERY BORING RESORT.
Ava was overly staffed with few customers at the resort (3:1 ratio) & we had absolutely terrible service most of the time. There were a few exceptions of excellent employees, which I commended, told leadership about & tipped them all heavily. The amount of times we waited for service, or just told ‘no’, was unacceptable!
On the 4th day, I expressed our concerns with mgmt. & Oscar was understanding & helpful & did his best to make the remaining 2 days of our stay more enjoyable all around.
Ava is overpriced & disappointing in 2024!
