This was a one night stay before heading to a longer trip in region. Hotel was new , however we were on first floor and there was a terrible smell in our unit and throughout the entire first floor . Pool on roof was nice and bar/food was good for a quick meal by the pool . Served the needs of our family . I would stay again , just not on first floor .

The concept of Residence Inn Marriott Cancun is spot on—it offers everything a traveler could ask for: spacious rooms, a great location, and amenities that cater to both short and extended stays. Unfortunately, the execution falls short due to poor attention to detail from the management team. During my stay, I noticed small but impactful issues that detracted from the overall experience. Furniture in common areas seemed out of place, giving an impression of disorganization. Garbage bins were awkwardly positioned on the main pathway to the rooms, which is not only an eyesore but also inconvenient. Additionally, basic housekeeping fell short—shampoo and toiletries were not refilled, which is a surprising oversight for a Marriott property. The staff's attention was also below the level of attentiveness I’ve come to expect from the brand. While the team was polite, they seemed uncoordinated and lacked the proactive approach that elevates a stay from average to excellent. The potential for this hotel is undeniable, but it desperately needs management to address these operational details to match the quality of its concept. I hope to see improvements in the future, as this property could truly shine with better attention to detail.

The concierge was really nice and helpful. The room was filthy, all linen had to be replaced. Bathroom smelt of mold and mildew. The housekeeper came in with a towel on a stick to redo the floor! We booked a partial ocean view and no water at all was in eye sight, there was nothing but wild trees in view on the balcony.

Room was good and comfortable. The hotel is close to airport and breakfast is included BUT far from all the restaurants and shopping and it does not have any beach that you walk to. The hotel is at the beginning of the hotel zone. The local bus also doesn't come here. You have to rely on Uber. Food delivery apps (Uber eats) didn't even show this hotel for delivery and other restaurants said they won't deliver here. And for all tours (day tours outside Cancun) , the tour bus stops here first for pick up. So you will really have an early start of the day at 6:30 am
