Staff was very nice and attentive. Staff members stood out with their services in the bar area and restaurants. Check in and check out was smooth. The resort does have a distinctive smell. Not sure if it was due to being close to water.

Beautiful property and the staff were all amazing. Friendly, attentive, and spoke a variety of languages! No trouble at all during the trip. Easy check in and check out, transportation options available on site! Just watch that if you don’t book directly with RIU, the shuttle is not provided. We had to book a taxi from the airport and back. The resort set it up for us for the return trip at a discount though. Read your booking closely for those little details!

Ernesto at the check in counter was very professional, courteous and pleasant to talk with. Miguel for holding out luggages until check in time. Arcos and Aaron at the main buffet were friendly, anticipated our needs and always ready to offer great service. We’ve already made plans to go back soon. Riu Palace Las Americas deserves its 5 Star ⭐️ rating.

Food was good Tuesday through Thursday food was excellent. Saturday the food was horrible. Wife was served food poisoning the first night there. Sunday. The resort was extremely clean. Servers was very helpful and nice. The water got a little rough the last 2 days there and they would not let us in the water. I had seen bigger waves at Daytona Fl. That was the final straw for me. Sorry but alot people have said the food is horrible and it is. I will not be going back.

This was our second visit to the same Riu Palace Las Americas. Both were for our anniversary. The staff is wonderful and very accommodating. The restaurants have a well rounded selection of food and taste great. Our pool area waiter, Juan, was so attentive, we never had to ask for anything, he was there and knew what we wanted or made a suggestion.
