They had a pipe burst with no shower water for days we left early. The carpet was very old and beds hard. Staff was very nice and friendly.

OK hostel in central location
Best part of this accommodation is the location! Central to nightlife, restaurants and citysightseeing hub. Facilities are not the greatest but cheap enough to look past. Overall decent hostel with a great view!

very central location and the standard of accommodation was high and good value for the price. Least said about the neighbourhood the better , although it is probably safer than it first appears .

Overall, not bad. Anastasia, who checked us in was awesome. She was so helpful. The building was old and the elevators were iffy but it added to the adventure. If you can not sleep with noise, the street below is very noisy so it could be an issue for some.

I give HomeBase my seal of approval
The location in the city centre was great for me, but the room can be noisy for some people. I had the single "elephant" room in the new section and there was quite a bit of noise from the street, but I am a heavy sleeper so no problem for me. Excellent internet, stable and fast. Cereal, toast and coffee for breakfast, plus some addition like omelette for a small price. Helpful and friendly reception team. Great view from the top floor, I flew my drone from there and took this amazing picture. I would definitely stay there again.

Friendly helpful staff
The staff were very friendly and helpful, you felt like part of the family. Free breakfast but is very basic but the cook will do you something extra for a charge. Is located in the centre of city with plenty of restaurants and night life,

Good backpacker hotel. It had a nice view of table mountain from the rooftop. The private room was comfortable and spacious. The staff were helpful and friendly. Not my favorite part of Long Street but it worked well with our budget.

Convenient hostel in the middle of the city
We had booked a room when with en-suite bathroom but when we reached there they said that there was some mismatch between what was shown on the hotels.com site and what they offered. They didn't have any en-suite rooms vacant so we had to settle for room with shared facilities. Apart from this, we didn't have any other issues. The room itself was clean and compact. The had complimentary breakfast of cereal, toast and coffee/tea in the mornings. The location of the hostel is very convenient for local sightseeing and food and drink.

Classic hostel atmosphere. Easy to network with other like-minded travelers at the hostel terrace and common areas. The staff was very friendly and helped me with all my queries and reservations. The location is perfect - walkable distance from all Long Street restaurant and bars. But it can also get slightly noisy at night due to its proximity. WiFi was slightly slow in the room but there is good connectivity at the front desk. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at HomeBase.

O hostel é muito bem localizado e ocupa 4 andares de um edificio (do 4 ao 7 andar). O terraço é o ponto forte do hostel, pela linda vista. O atendimento da recepção é ótimo. Vários hóspedes deste hostel estão há meses hospedados (seja por motivo de estudo ou trabalho). Devido a isso, caracterizo este hostel como um local calmo, tranquilo, sem festas e sem grande rotatividade de pessoas. Esse é um hostel para quem quer mais tranquilidade, tanto que o próprio hostel não oferece atividades de interação. O café da manhã é simples e bem saboroso. Há sempre dois tipos de pães, margarina, geleia, cereais, café, leite e chá. O café, o leite e o chá ficam disponíveis 24h. Fiquei no quarto andar, num quarto de 4 camas. O quarto era ótimo: ótimo colchão e cama, ar condicionado, lokers espaçosos, quarto grande, banheiros limpos. No entanto, o quarto não era limpado com regularidade. Fiquei 24 dias no hostel, e a roupa de cama que deveria ser trocada de 5 em 5 dias (segundo eles) só foi trocada 2 vezes (a segunda vez foi porque eu pedi). A internet nas primeiras semanas era excelente. No entanto, nas duas últimas semanas que estive, decaiu em velocidade e conexão. O hostel oferece serviço de lavagem de roupa a um preço econômico, o que facilita bastante. Um ponto realmente negativo foi a quebra do elevador. Quando fui embora do hostel, o elevador estava quebrado há 5 dias. Tenho problema no joelho e isso atrapalhou bastante a minha acessibilidade.

Ich würde es auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen. Super nette Leute dort. Wir hatten ein DZ, leider direkt auf der Sand Street, dh. es war auch dementsprechend laut, das ist aber auch der einzige Minuspunkt. Frühstück war ausreichend und gut, es gab Toastbrot mit Butter und Marmelade, Cornflakes, Kaffee & Tea und frischgebackene Muffins.

Allt var bra, fint och mysigt. Det enda jag kan säga något om var att ljudnivån var ganska hög från korridor och gatan, men det är kanske något man räknar med om man är mer van än jag att bo på hostel. Är över lag väldigt nöjd med min vistelse.
