Great place to escape from work, or great place to escape the mainland and work…..kayak right from nearby launch, or walk 1200’ to Gulf of Mexico beaches. Dockage of boat included and nice golf cart. Great spot and convenient as we took our own boat over for the week. Property manager was extremely responsive. Hope to make it back again next year.

Wonderful Getaway!
Convenient location, came with golf cart, pickleball and tennis equipment, kayaks and paddles, beach chairs and beach towels. New washer and dryer. Great layout with calming beach decor. Nice bedding and towels, good water pressure. Kid friendly and beautiful views. There’s a little beach area close by where we would walk over to for fishing and to put kayaks in to paddles through the mangroves. Very close to one of the restaurants and boat dock. Quiet and lovely. Neighbors were very friendly. Shelly Seashells made arrival and departure seamless and if we had any questions or needed anything, Ally was quick to respond. We had a wonderful vacation with our 3 children and can’t wait to go back!

A Relaxing Trip on North Captiva
North Captiva takes a bit extra planning and a bit more logistics than your typical Florida beach vacation. However, you are rewarded pristine nature and very small crowds. I got the sense that this is what Florida used to be like before every beach had a high rise condo building and mini golf course. Our family of 4 stayed in this Safety harbor condo. It’s smaller and bit older, but had everything we needed for a great trip. Also, the property manager handled grocery and fresh seafood delivery for us, which was a huge stress reducer compared to some of the other families on the outbound ferry. The condo came with a golf cart, beach chairs, 2 kayaks, 2 paddle boards (though only 1 life jacket) tennis rackets, spike ball, and pool floats. You have access to two tennis courts and a smaller community pool. Although the condo is on the bayside, it’s no big deal to go to the beach and more economical. There is no traffic and you are never fighting for a parking spot. The condo had 3 br and 2baths. Couple of odd layout things (master bath doesn’t have a door to br, br 3 has low ceiling, and you have to go through bath to get to br3). Otherwise no issues. It was well stocked, towels, cookware, spices, basic toiletries, etc). It’s also worth noting there is a lot of construction post hurricane, and only two restaurants were open. Regardless, If you enjoy being off the beaten path like we do and don’t love crowds, this is a wonderful place.

Awesome Christmas getaway!
We had the best time in North Captiva! It was our first time traveling to the Island. The condo was perfect! Glen, was a wonderful host, quick to respond to any questions. There’s everything you’d need for the beach, extra beach towels, toys, chairs, games, kayaks and the golf cart! We’d love to come back soon!

Great Getaway
We have stayed on North Captiva Island several times, but this is the first time we weren't on the beach side....what a great change of location! A huge bonus was that we could watch a beautiful sunrise from the comfort of our own screened in porch!! Maintenance even came while we were there and trimmed the tops off the mangroves, so our view was completely unobstructed! The unit was clean and well equipped. There were tons of towels, we never ran out during our stay! We had our daughter and her family with us. The other 2 bedrooms and bath were on same floor, so very convenient for their family. They have 3 kids, so the room with the 3 beds was made for them. The sloped roof room was the one our grown children used....without any complaints. We were thankful that our bedroom and bath were on the same floor as the living space, less stairs to climb! The kitchen is small, but didn't keep us from fixing breakfast and lunch for our whole family! An added bonus was 2 bags of ice in the freezer....nice touch! The golf cart was new and ran great. We have had alot of golf cart issues, in the past, so this was a wonderful. It was a very short walk to our boat. The wheelbarrow cart was very helpful for loading our stuff on our boat. The managers and owner responded quickly with answers to any questions that we had. The managers, Sean and Ally even gave us their cell phone numbers, so we were able to get quick responses. We would definitely rent this unit again!

Excellent Stay—Much larger than seems
Pictures do not do the island justice. We had an excellent experience and had a 6 person golf cart for the week, which was a complete lifesaver. So glad to have picked this STR. Island is in a great cleanup point—I wish they would’ve stressed the grocery delivery via Shallys—that would’ve saved a total headache on my part. Check in was smooth, Bryan was there waiting for us and helped us carry our stuff inside.

Captiva Townhouse
House came with many recreational items which was a great surprise! The kitchen was impressively stocked with any kitchen gadget you could ask for! It’s a small space, so not much room for food in pantry and the roof lines are low. Just fine for my 8 & 12 year old but may be an issue for anyone over 5’6”. It was a beautiful trip to North Captiva that we hope to repeat!

We’ve been to North Cap many times but this was our first experience with SHC. It was wonderful.
Everyone associated with this rental from the owner to the management company were a pleasure to deal with. The townhome was beautiful, had many amenities. We truly enjoyed our stay. Can’t wait to come back.

A place that’s just right!
We love North Captiva, and even though this visit was amid the rubble left from the hurricane, the beach was as alluring as ever. Brian did a great job hosting - owner and hosts were all very responsive.

Golf cart caught fire,no window covering in master bedroom , flooring coming up,patio fan broken, left me waiting at the dock for 1/2 hr to check in, management and owner do not respond to issues , I’ve stayed on island 10 times and never had 1 issue before this nightmare

Fun in the sun
We had a blast at this last minute rental. It worked perfect for our family. They had a fully stocked kitchen and all the toys we could want. The association had some unplanned work while we were there and the owner was very helpful. We took our boat over and we’re able to park almost in front of our place which was awesome. Tortuga Properties met us right away and moved all of our bags in. The location made for some nice sunrises, easy access to all restaurants and the pool. Thanks for having us!

Wonderful place on glorious North Captiva
A very sweet town home overlooking the harbor. Wonderful view of sunrise. Great location near Safety Harbor Club amenities and quick golf cart ride to the fantastic beaches. Can’t go wrong here- highly recommended.

Amazing week Shelling on North Captiva
We had an amazing time on North Captiva. The condo we rented at Safety harbor was very reasonably priced and exceeded our expectations in n cleanliness and location. The addition of a golf cart and all the water sports equipment was great. Tortuga management was responsive and kind and even found us another place to stay when we decided to extend our stay. Five stars all around.

We had a great week here. The condo was very clean and well stocked. We had everything we needed and more. Glenn was very responsive to all questions and even allowed my son to borrow one of the fishing poles in the garage. Golf cart was great and we had a ton of fun exploring from this location. My son and husband went on a fishing charter right from the dock out front. It is a great spot!

We enjoyed our time here thoroughly! Glenn was helpful and responsive with our questions and planning leading up to our stay and the property manager, Duncan was lovely. He was there to meet us once we got off the ferry, transported all of our items right up to our townhouse and was available throughout our stay with anything that we needed. Reasonable and confortable place
The property is very well stocked with anything you can imagine from kayaks and pedal boards to kitchen utencils that sometimes you do not even expect. Our only regreat was the king bed that had a bad matress on it, certainly this is not a problem for future renters since there was a deliver of a new matress on the third day of our stay. We tried to get that one installed on the unit but for unknown reasons to us the management company never did it during our stay. If you are looking for a renew property this is not the property but given other factors like cost and confort it is a descent unit and once the matress issue is fixed, it is a place we can return to.
