Chianti Classico, Sienese side and Arceno estate – one thousand hectares of hamlets, woods, centuries-old cypresses and rows of vines and olive groves as far as the eye can ee, twenty-eight kilometres of perfectly maintained country lanes, where years ago Ridley Scott and Leonardo Di Caprio stayed for short periods and where entrepreneurs, artists, sportspeople stay today.

1/ This is a charming Villa set amidst an amazing panaroma. It is in a perfect location to enjoy a relaxing vacation with family and friends alike, whilst experiencing the unique appeal and attractions of Tuscany.

2/ You can enjoy a special holiday in a luxury villa on a beautiful estate in Tuscany, the most famous and visited region of Italy. La Cappella is an independent and private Villa, with it own expansive garden, olive grove and lawn to enjoy. There is a grand outdoor covered terrace for relaxing, dining and generally enjoying the wonderful views.

3/ The surrounding area in Tuscany has the best in architecture, art, culture, fine food and wine. There are numerous excursions and activities that can be undertaken. There are recommended itineraries to the many towns within close proximity, or visits to some of the famous local vineyards. There is also comprehensive information for guests regarding other excursions and activities that may be undertaken during your stay. We can also refer you to a local cycling business, Chianti Bicycles in Castelnuovo Berardenga. Here you can rent road, racing, mountain, hybrid or electrical bikes.

4/ We can arrange for a prominent Italian chef to come to the Villa to cook and present a fabulous evening meal for your party. Alternatively, you may prefer to dine out at one of the many local restaurants that are referred to in the House Book. If you are interested in Italian food, private cooking lessons can be arranged with this talented chef. He is a celebrity chef at prominent establishments in USA where he visits every winter.

5/ Welcome to Capella di Pancole, part of the prestigious estate of Villa d'Arceno. Our recently restored residence comprises 3 double bedrooms, 3 modern en suite bathrooms, a guest bathroom, laundry, a modern kitchen, dining room, living room leading to a grand terrace and private gardens. It also includes a Welcome Basket comprising good wine, local olive oil, food for the first evening's meal and breakfast plus essential food condiments. There is free Wi FI and and smart TV entertainment facilities with Netflix provided.

7/ This is not an average 'self catering rental'. This is a superior standard of accommodation and facilities. Our standard accommodation rates are fully inclusive of many extras designed to make your stay more enjoyable.

These materials blend well with modern, stylish appliances and design to create spacious accomodation with the utmost convenience.

The World heritage site of the Crete Senese is only 15 minutes away.

18/ Cappella di Pancole is situated on a 1,100 hectare estate with more than 30 villas and farmhouses dotted amongst nature reserves, vineyards, olives and woodlands. The Tenuta di Villa d'Arceno is a high quality wine producer and exporter. There is an unique feeling of grandeur and serenity about the estate. The main Villa on the estate originates from 17th century, having been owned by an aristocractic Senese family. There are interesting walks and bike riding can be undertaken within the estate .

19/ The estate is situated only 7 km north of the Siena - Arezzo motorway. The airports of Florence and Perugia are about 75 minutes drive. Pisa and Bologna Airports are about 2 hours by car .

20/ A car is recommended. A driver can be arranged for interesting excursions .

Great peaceful break near Siena
The location is great, with walks immediately around the house and lots of lovely towns and villages to visit. Even a good go-Karting track! The house itself is brilliant - very well suited for a family, with bathrooms part of or very close to every bedroom, an easy use kitchen, and convenient dining tables both in and out doors. My wife and I particularly valued the delightful Italian cotton sheets(!) and comfortable beds. Finally, and not insignificantly, Barbara (who looks after the property locally), was a font of useful local knowledge and very entertaining with her many stories of events over the years on the estate and in the vicinity. In the house there was a very useful guide for activities in the area. We loved our stay!

Property was exactly as described. Clean, well appointed, and very comfortable. Location provides the “Tuscan feel” we were looking for yet was driving distance to Siena, Orvieto, Montalcino and other locations. Worth noting, communication with the owner and local property manager was excellent. You will not be disappointed with the property.

Return Stay
We love this property. This is the second time we have stayed here. The owner Stefan is great. To be honest the management has slipped a little and it was difficult to communicate with new manager. You have to love the country and it is about 10 minutes using dirt roads to get to the Villa. The Villa is a great value and a great location. If you love peace and quiet and good local restaurants and wineries this is the place for you.

Idyllic Getaway in Tuscany
We recently stayed 5 nights here as the first leg of a 2 week trip. We could not be happier with our experience. The home was beautiful, even better than the listing. We truly felt that we came home each night after long days driving around Tuscany. Comfortable beds, cozy kitchen and living area and an amazing yard. We sat outside as much as possible, even though the weather was cool. The thoughtful inclusion of bread, butter, sauce, coffee, etc was such a welcoming touch and we can’t speak highly enough about the property manager, Eleanor. She was amazing, so helpful and always available for questions or suggestions. In one sentence, Book This Home!. It was an incredible experience.

Tuscany Italy - Beautiful Location and Views from a Villa Outside of Sienna
We had a lovely time here. The villa is charming and the location is stunning! Set in the middle of Tuscany (east of Siena), the Italian countryside and towns are beautiful. The Italian people were friendly and relaxed. This was a perfect Tuscan vacation. Thank you! We will return.

Issues in an unusually hot summer
The villa was lovely. We were surprised how far the villa was off a paved road, which added significant travel time to any location. The extreme heat made the stay uncomfortable. The ceiling fans in upstairs bedrooms were not effective. Days were spent trying to manage the heat. It is essential the owner provide functioning fans throughout. Minor inconveniences were: appliances didn’t have non-standard adapters provided— for coffee makers, hair dryers etc.

Very nice house in beautiful place
Tuscany is beautiful country, and this house is located in very nice part, in Chianti. So this part is green, even there was no rain for 2 months. House is spacious, well maintained. The beds are very comfortable and this place is very quiet, so you will sleep very well. Eleonora is very pleasant and helpful, speeks very well English and is accommodating. We enjoyed our holiday.

Quiet and peaceful Tuscan countryside retreat
This was my favorite place I stayed in Tuscany during a visit of over a month. I stayed in Siena and Florence, and while those were nice, nothing beat the views and serenity offered in this Tuscan villa. I spent every evening on the patio eating dinner. I was there to spend time writing and reading. I also enjoyed w/ my spouse the winery not too far away, and an amazing meal in Villa a Sesta recommended by the thorough guidebook. The house itself was perfect. Lots of room for our family of 3, probably more than we needed. The views were truly spectacular. It was only about 25 minutes into Siena, and also was easy to get to Chianti. Other Tuscan hill towns were about 30 minutes to an hour away. The best place in rural Tuscany.

Tuscan Idyl
If you are looking for a place to get away from crowds in the middle of Tuscany, this could be it. Stone exterior fits into the countryside but was recently (2010) constructed. Attentive management. Great things to do/how things work book. The house is delightfully isolated but near enough to many sights, activities, towns/cities. Kitchen very well provisioned. Good laundry. We had an issue with water heater but responsively sorted; plenty of heat/hot water. Ultra modern bathrooms (3 full + 1/2). Beautiful east facing terrace. Wood burning fireplace. Lots of closet space. Nicely furnished. And it’s Tuscany!

Fabulous getaway with stunning views
We were met outside the village of San Gusme by Eleonora, a local representative of the property owners, which was important because even with GPS this property is not easy to find. She not only helped us find the home and settle in, but also provided help for the duration of our stay with information on local food, making reservations, etc. One of the highlights of our stay there was a home-cooked Italian meal that was prepared and served to us by a local family, made from ingredients grown on their family farm, and complete with their Chianti wine as well. Stefan helped us get this set up prior to our visit. We were a group of 3 couples, and the villa was the perfect size for us, with three full size bedrooms, plus large living and dining/kitchen areas and outdoor patio with amazing views of the nearby countryside. The home is beautifully furnished and has the feel of an old world villa but with modern conveniences. We were very comfortable there and the location served well as a home base for our day trips to local destinations: San Gimignano, Greve, Panzano, Siena, Castella di Brolio, Montalcino, and Montepulciano. We ate wonderful meals in nearby little villages of San Gusme and Villa a Sesta, beautiful gems that were surprising to us that they were not written up in travel guidance that we had previously read about the area. Highly recommend to those that want to get away for a quiet experience in the beautiful Tuscan landscape, and are not afraid of taking the back roads to get there.

Lovely home base from which to explore Tuscany and Umbria
The villa is very quiet, comfortable and well equipped, on lovely grounds within the Villa di Arceno estate. Although it is about a 10-minute drive from the villa to the main road, the roads and property within the estate are very well maintained. In Castelnuovo Berardenga, there is a nice grocery (Coop) where you can get anything you need. And in Castelnuovo Bearardenga and the surrounding villages there are a number of good restaurants. Beyond the immediate area, the villa is centrally located to explore Tuscany and Umbria by car. Siena is about a 35 minute drive., and it has much to offer in terms of sites, restaurants and shopping The house notebook is an informative and reliable guide to restaurants and things to do in the area. The cooking class with Andrea was a really wonderful experience and, with everything it includes, a great bargain. Highly recommend this house as a base from which to explore central Italy.

Superbe villa - 180 degrés de vues
Bonjour.

True luxury in the heart of Siena!
What a delightful place to immerse yourself in the serenity of the Tuscan hillside views, or to use as a base for exploring the region. We were happily ensconced in Cappela di Pancole for a week, and it was just perfect for us. The villa was well laid out for four of us, with comfortable furnishings and decor. We especially appreciated the welcome basket from Esther and Stefan, so well provisioned to provide us with our first Italian supper on the evening that we arrived. We all are lovers of Italian food, and wanted to have a local cooking experience. Stefan connected us to a local chef and caterer with a great reputation. We spent a day in and around Siena shopping with the chef to get the ingredients for a fantastic four course dinner that we all then participated in preparing in the villa that evening under his instruction. He was an enthusiastic and charming man, very passionate about the elegance and simplicity of the Tuscan cuisine, and we are still dreaming about that magical experience. It was definitely the high point of our trip. The villa is also well situated for exploring the local wineries, and Stefan and Esther have provided a number of proposed itineraries for day trips in their house book that we found very helpful and easy to follow. Even the local grounds on the Villa Arceno estate provide ample opportunity for interesting hikes and walks if you want to take a break from driving around and just enjoy the property. These hosts really put themselves in the place of their guests, and thought of everything. We all would highly recommend it and hope we can return in the future.

The vue … well, I cannot find the words to describe it!
Hi. We are from the Province of Québec, Canada. We rented this superb villa for a week. We were two couples. It was a wonderfull experience in all respects. The villa is recently built; not to say new; but with an incredible charm. Pictures shown by the owner on this site are real and accurate and truly represent the place. Nothing was missing in this house. It is decorated with taste and in respect with its environment, i.e. Tuscany ! Absolutely everything in the villa was fully operational. We even had quality mountain bikes at our disposal. Beds are extremely comfortable. The vue … well, I cannot find the words to describe it! 180 degrees uninterrupted view on the surrounding mountains …. It is pixel consuming! We are quite high in the mountain, so we see far (40 kilometres). The land around the villa is vast and very nicely landscaped …. Lavander, rosemary, olive trees, cypresses, and I ignore the names of all the other plantations … The villa is spacious … plenty of room for six …. Even though we were four. We appreciated very much the fact that the villa is right in the middle of Tuscany …. Easy to make day trips to Montalcino, Montepulciano, Pienza, San Gimignano, Sienna, Cortona, Florence, Radda, Greve, Montereggioni, Arrezzo, etc … in other words, very central place . We will com back!!!

A Tuscan Delight
From the moment we made first contact with the owners to the moment we checked out of Villa La Cappella, our experience could not have been more perfect. The owners, Esther and Stefan were extremely responsive and provided very useful information and guidance to assure we made the most of our week (for example, encouraging us to make some advance bookings and providing descriptions of their favorite countryside hikes). Their local "property team" of Jalissa and Sheri were wonderful, providing a good orientation to the property, making sure the property was amazingly clean and well cared for, and they were very responsive when needed during our stay. The welcome basket is sufficiently stocked that you can make an evening meal the day you arrive without stopping to grocery shop. We were also told we could request specific items to be added to the basket. A nice service especially if you expect to be arriving late afternoon and tired! Our travel group was comprised of 3 couples. One other attraction of this property was the ability to give each couple their own bedroom and bathroom on separate levels. This allowed us to enjoy each others company in the common areas and out on the lovely terrace, while at the same time providing some level of privacy for everyone. The villa was also perfectly situated for day trips in the Chianti region and Val d'Orcia. We chose to eat all our evening meals at the villa rather than navigate the roads at night. There is easy access to grocery stores in Castelnuovo Berardenga and, if your timing is right, you might be able to buy directly from producers on market day or at a road-side stand. Our most special evening meal was when we organized Chef Andrea to come to the villa and provide a combined dinner and cooking lesson. He was absolutely delightful and, with his good instruction, the food was delicious. We also enjoyed the walk through the vineyards to the town of San Gusmé. There was so much to love about the beautiful, peaceful and relaxing Villa la Cappella and the surrounding Arceno estate....we did not want to leave! Thank you Esther & Stefan, Jalissa and Sheri for making our visit such a wonderful experience.

An absolutely fantastic holiday destination in Tuscany. Recommended!
Having stayed at Cappella di Pancole for 5 days we can highly recommend it as a fantastic and very relaxing family holiday destination in Tuscany. After 2 weeks away we drove from Venice to this absolutely beautiful area of Tuscany - and which turned out to be one of the highlights of our 3 week holiday. This was a great cental location for us to explore the Chianti region, including the historic local towns of San Gusme and Castelnuovo Berardenga, and within an easy drive to both Siena and Florence. The accommodation for our family of 4 was supeb in the newly completed luxurious 3 story Villa with all modern facilities. There was good Wifi coverage. The amazing views of the surrounding Tuscan Hills from the Villa were a highlight, as well were the wonderful walks around the estate. To sit outside on the terrace for al fresco dining with a glass of the local Chianti wine, and Pancole olive oil and bread to watch the sunset, was majestic and only added to the wonderful relaxing environment. The Villa provided a family friendly environment for our children (8 and 11) who enjoyed breakfasts on the terrace and playing in the landscaped gardens set amongst the olive trees, surrounded on all sides, by beautiful countryside. The owners have done a remarkable job in rebuilding such a lovely Villa, which captures everything Tuscan. The welcome we received from Jalissa was wonderfully friendly, and everything was exactly as the website has said from the superb description of the Villa to the beautiful country side and generous welcome basket of local products that was provided on our arrival. There were wonderful places to visit. Our family enjoyed the very relaxing hot springs and baths at nearby Rapolano Terme. There are good restaurants and local food shopping a short distance away. With Jalissa's assistance we were able to more easily find the local attractions and places of interest. This helped to make our stay very enjoyable. This was our first visit to Tuscany and we will definitely come back for another holiday at Cappella. Paul and Janet, Sydney, Australia

A Very Special Place
The description of Capella Di Pancole in VRBO is absolutely accurate. The sentiments expressed in the previous two reviews are entirely supported. My wife and I spent five days here in May. With us for most of the time were our son, our daughter and our bson's partner; ages ranging from late 20s to early 30s. Probably the most telling compliment is that, after moving to Capella Di Pancole, all three rearranged their ongoing vacation plans to extend their stay here. Based on our experience the property is ideally suited to two or three couples, or a family of up to six plus a baby. The spaciousness of the bedrooms, the two terraced areas, the lawn and the 3.5 bathrooms provide for a huge amount of individual privacy if required. The central indoor dining and living area are spacious yet convivial. Best of all, from an Australian's point of view, all bathrooms have full sized walk in shower alcoves with glass screens!!!!! The only recommended restaurant we tried was Locando Di Thomasso. It was so good we just kept returning. We also thought the Chainti Classico made by the estate winery was excellent. We will be forever grateful. There are beautiful views from every window. The location is very private and tranquil. A magic place for rest and relaxation and ideally located to explore the rest of Tuscany. Thank you for all.

Hidden Gem in the Heart of Tuscany
Serendipity is defined as the act of making fortunate discoveries, and precisely describes what it is to have found Capella di Pancole, a beautiful villa set in the heart of the Tuscan countryside. As if the spectacular view from the terrace were not enough, the attention to detail in every aspect of Esther and Stefan Schwarz’s ‘home-away-from-home” renders it truly a treasure in terms of pampered accommodation. From the comfortable beds and private baths, to the well-appointed kitchen, to the beautifully landscaped surroundings, to the cornucopian welcome basket, you will feel as if you’ve walked into a dream-come-true. With the little village of Castelnuovo Berardenga a short distance away, La Pancole makes a very convenient and comfortable home-base for exploring this magical part of Italy. We were a group of 3 couples, so the layout of the villa perfectly suited our needs. Having the bedrooms away from the main floor allowed those who are early risers to enjoy their coffee in the morning sun without waking those who preferred to slumber a little longer. We cooked several of our evening meals in the villa, and Esther and Stefa have taken great care to provide the necessary facilities for doing so. Being able to dine in and eat on the terrace overlooking the incredible view was one of the highlights of our stay. From this central location we were able to explore the surrounding cities and villages – Siena, Cortona, Montepulciano, Pienza, Volterra, San Gimignano, as well as explore the area immediately surrounding the estate. We enjoyed a delicious lunch at Locando di Tomasso in Castelnuovo Berardenga, as well as a wonderful dinner in San Gusme at the lively Sira e Remino. One experience that particularly stands out for us was the opportunity to have a cooking lesson right at the villa. We had organized this prior to our trip, and were quite looking forward to the experience. We were met at the little Thursday market in Castelnuovo B’ga and selected the appropriate fresh ingredients for our little feast, after which we returned to La Pancole and under expert tutelage, prepared a lunch fit for a king. Definitely worth looking into! Find the reference for this in the information binder in the villa. Anyone looking to spend extended time in the Tuscany area could do no better than to book Capella di Pancole, but I’d suggest you do it quickly. Once word is out about this hidden gem, tourists will be flocking there like pigeons to St. Mark's Square!!

Stunning Villa - beautiful and tranquil setting
We arrived at your villa for a 6 day holiday on March 11th. We were 3 couples. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly by the owners Esther & Stefan. Immediately we saw that we had come to the Garden Of Eden, the villa in on top of the hill and the view is breathtaking. The villa is so lovely and great care is taken with its upkeep, one feels at once that the owners made very sure that it has everything necessary to make the stay there very pleasant in these wonderful surroundings. The owners are a lovely couple who speak English, which made it easier to communicate with them and receive their recommendation on where to visit so that we could enjoy our vacation to the maximum. There is no doubt that the beautiful villa and the wonderful hospitality we received made this vacation a most pleasant and memorable one for all of us. We highly recommend this villa to everyone who really wants to enjoy their holiday in Toscana and if we ever decide to visit Toscana again we shall be sure to come there and stay with the wonderful Schwarz couple. Thank you from all of us ; ..Sarit & Izak, Michal & Rami, Orna & Rony

Stunning Villa - beautiful and tranquil setting
There were 6 of us staying in the villa; ma, pa plus two offspring and their partners. Ma and Pa took the downstairs bedroom while the others took the top floor - perfect! Everything was exactly as described on the website listings; all to the highest standard and some very nice touches such as the arrival pack, the games and the iPod docking station for our own music. Perfectly clean, well equipped and the owners were friendly, knowledgable and attentive to our comments and needs. We loved the patio area and took full advantage of the barbecue - making nightly raids to the owner's wood pile - with their full permission :-) Lots of places to visit within an hours drive; deepest 'Chiantishire', plus the unmissable San Gimingano, and the incomparable Siena. Its difficult to believe that there are so many beautiful and interesting places within easy reach. The Villa Arceno estate is lovely and perfect for taking lots of pictures. We made use of the bikes to explore the immediate area, but beware of the hills! We would thoroughly recommend the villa to anyone looking for some quality time, in a beautiful and luxurious villa, in amazing surroundings. First class all the way. Many thanks - we'd happily recommend you to friends and family and would love to come again.
