This is a historic Villa with records dating back to the 13th century that functioned as a watch tower and was beautifully renovated in the last 10 years including air conditioning in the bed rooms which is rare in this area. The quaint entrance foyer leads to the living room where there is a comfortable sofa and chairs for 6 persons , stone fireplace, television , DVD and cabinet with entertainment facilities, dining table for 8 persons, antique side board , fully equiped kitchen, storeroom, laundry with washing machine as well as dryer, wash basin and guest toilet on ground floor.
The door from the kitchen leads out to a terrace with an awning to provide protection from midday sun. Here there is a table for 6 persons where you can enjoy breakfast, an aperitivo in the late afternoon and al fresco dining watching the glorious Tuscan sunset. There is a hand made stone BBQ and stone wall.
The stairs from the ground level lead upstairs to a sitting room and 2 bedrooms ( 1 double room with queen size bed suitable for 2 persons) and 1 room with 2/3 size bed( French double bed) for either 1 or 2 persons depending on the age and choice of the guests). For instance, it is more than adeqate for 2 children to share and probably a young couple. In the bathroom is to be found a bath, shower, basin cabinet , toilet and bidet. In the sitting room there is a fold out sofa suitable for sleeping 2 additional persons) leading out to the loggia/ exterior staircase.
Internal stairs leading to 2nd floor with main bedroom( with king size bed that can be converted to 2 single beds on prior notice from the guests), alcave and ensuite bathroom (shower, basin, toilet and bidet).
Each bedroom has wardrobes for hanging space and the of storage of clothes. There are chest of drawers, chairs, bed side lamps and side tables in each bedroom with wonderful views looking out from each window of the house.
The newly renovated, beautiful und unusual large heated swimming pool is located in a separate area of the property about 60 metres away from the Villa. The pool is permitted to be used only by the guests of the Torre and in some weeks by the neighboring main house. During booking it will be specified if the pool can be used exclusively. The pool is open from May 1-September 15. It is regularly cleaned and maintained by a local pool company. There are plenty of lounge chairs as well as a modern covered terrace. Sunbeds are located near the house for relaxing and sunbathing in complete privacy.
There is a covered carport for the secure parking of 2 cars with respect to the use of the guests staying at Torre di Pancole.
There is magnificent country surrounding the property. It is situated in one of the best areas of Tuscany, at the southern end of the Chianti Classico wine region. The property lies close to most of the historical towns of Tuscany; within 25 minutes drive of Siena and within 1 hours' drive of Florence, Arezzo, San Gimignano, Cortona, Pienza, Montepulciano and Montalcino.
There is a Housebook kept in the Villa which contains all the information relating to the running of the Villa and its appliances, as well as details about shopping, activities and sightseeing. There are recommended itineries to the wine regions.
There is the medieval village of San Gusme less than 3 kilometres away which offers good restaurants and bars. There you can enjoy a morning coffee in this delightful village, which is usually peaceful with few tourists about.
Within 15 minutes drive, there are other Chianti villages of Castelnuovo Berardenga and Villa A Sesta and the delightful borgo of San Felice where you can have a meal or coffee at one the premier hotels of the region.
Apart from its market day ,Castelnuovo Berardenga offers comprehensive supermarket shopping , several restaurants, bars, banks and other facilities.
The property is located on the famous estate of Villa d'Arceno, the setting of the film, Stealing Beauty. There are colonades of cypress trees which line the roads meandering through the estate.There is a prominent winery owned by the Jackson Family, where you can visit for tasting. There are very good wines and olive oil for sale that can be shipped to your home.
