A great place to relax!
We travelled to Piemonte for wine tasting, and this house is almost ideally situated in the middle of the Asti-Alba-Barolo-Barbera-Barbaresco area. It is in a rural area, and the local farmer does drive his tractor and truck by the house occasionally (several times a day). Otherwise, noise is almost nonexistent. The house (actually Villa Tellais well appointed and well furnished. It is one of 2 in a duplex arrangement at the top of a small hill. All 3 bedrooms are large; 2 have an adjoining bath and 1 has a private bath. Living room is large and comfortable. Kitchen is well furnished. Just realize that this is NOT a place for those with mobility issues - steep, narrow stairs! My only issue is with the road to the house. It is a very narrow and winding road, and in several places there is no way for cars to pass. You may have to back down the road for 100 meters or more if you run into unyielding traffic at just the wrong spot. Cessole is a VERY small village, so you may have to drive as far as Alba or Canelli to get groceries when local village stores and restaurants are closed. These are picturesque drives of 45 minutes to an hour over mountain roads with many turns and switchbacks. Just pick up groceries on the way back from your favorite winery! We toured Coppo (Canelli), Drocco Luigi (Alba), Marchesi di Barolo, and Teo Costa (Castellinaldo). All were excellent! Teo Costa's prices are the best by far for bringing back to the house (no shipping to US).
