Like many who have stayed at this property, we have a student attending the college, thus the choice to stay in Chadron. We live in Nebraska and have been to Chadron many times, even before our time as a college family, and we have traveled tons around the country & have stayed in many vacation rentals. This lovely house has been one of our favorites.
First, the neighborhood was very quiet. It felt vey hometown and safe… even the mail delivery person gave us a big wave as we pulled into the driveway. It was the perfect example of rural Nebraska friendliness that one would expect from this quaint town & we felt like neighbors while staying in this house.
The house is close to anything you might need & just a quick drive to Rapid City, SD for sightseeing or shopping…we did the latter this trip.
The house itself was literally like being at home. It had the BEST living room furniture, which was very much appreciated for the day we spent lounging & cooking. I loved that the owner provided a Netflix account already logged in so we didn’t have to log in (or mostly, remember to log out) with our own credentials. The bedrooms also had beautiful furniture with extra bedding available. The kitchen was very well stocked, not only with the dishes & untensils we needed to cook, but with spices, condiments, and things like plastic baggies & foil. That’s so much appreciated since you often don’t pack such things.
Our trip plans were modified due to weather, but Scott was quick to respond to my messages and very accommodating to our schedule change. He even checked in to make certain we arrived safely.
Overall, this was one of the best VRBOs we’ve rented. The only downfall is that we are not the only family that knows about this little gem & it may be booked already the next time we plan to come. ;) It’s a well loved property and it’s evident that the owners are not only good stewards of the house, but are in service to provide a home away from home with hospitality from the heart.
Thank you for a wonderful place to land…it truly was ‘home’ for the weekend.
