Our Myers Family Gathering :)
We were so grateful to all gather together at this beautiful cabin! Our son's thoughts he wrote in their "Blah Blah book". ;) The Myers' extended family gathered here from VA, OH, and NC. for 3 days. The property is spacious and relaxing with plenty of areas for kids to explore. The children enjoyed finding crawfish in the creek and even found a painted turtle we affectionately called "Timmy". Our children walked the creek on the property and even named a portion of it their HQ, headquarters! The walkie talkies added to their adventures. We took a walk up the ridge and over down to the Elk River and swam. A small group of us split off to walk back on Upper Ranch Rd, which crossed over the creek multiple times with full shade and beautiful sights to see. (including tons of tiny fledgling toads hopping out of our way as we traped through.) As Nana, I appreciated the variety of kitchen tools. Even having a rolling pin to have a granddaughter help me make raspberry cream cheese empanadas with the ingredients we brought. We appreciated having the "if you see it, you can eat it" items in the pantry, especially when we had forgotten a spice. The firepit was a nightly highlight as well, with the fire lending itself to relaxing and settling into the night. Thank you for creating such a beautiful space here at the Head of the Hollow! Our host, J.R. Stamples was so attentive to help us find their home and very accommodating and generous. Such a wonderful experience together!

A quiet and secluded retreat.
Modern, attractive, clean, well-equipped, extra amenities. The road to get to the actual cabin was very narrow but passable w/vans and SUVS. When you get close to the property, use the host's directions. The lower porch was a great place for young kids to ride scooters and trikes... adequate wood for a fire. ... great stay I

COUNTRY PERFECTION! 10/16-10/24/22
This place is just magical. The property is gorgeous - views for days! J.R. and his family have provided every comfort and plenty of space to spread out. Our family is in OH and FL - this was a great area for us to meet for family time. We spent a lot of time rocking on the porch and gathering around the fire pit - just talking and enjoying being together. There was a lot of hiking, some fishing in the Elk River, enjoying the Clendenin Brewery, a great dinner at Bridge Road Bistro., etc. We met so many lovely neighbors when my d-i-l's dog "escaped" on our second night. Everyone in the "holler" helped look for him. J.R. even txtd several times to check in with us - such kind, caring people. Fortunately, the dog came back on his own on the 5th day as if he'd just been out for a stroll and he is fine! Our time here went by much too quickly. We didn't get it all done, but we have a list for next time! Thank you!!

Wonderful Cabin!
We had a wonderful time at J.R.’s terrific cabin, just off the Elk River and near all kinds of outdoor wonderfulness. The cabin is perfect for large or small groups, on a beautiful piece of property (with huge meadows and forest) but with all the amenities you might need and a fully stocked kitchen. J.R. Is a lovely and responsive host. We will absolutely be back!

Cabin deep in the woods
This cabin is very secluded and offers much privacy. There was plenty of space for all of us and our two large dogs. The beds were comfortable and the decor was beautiful. There was plenty of dishes and there was even some food there. The refigerator was pretty full so if you are bringing food as stated in the advertisement you may consider asking the owner to not have it there. We saw plenty of wildlife and enjoyed a nice fire. We made many memories. This was by far one of the nicest cabins I have ever stayed at. The only thing that could have possibly made it better in my opinion is a hot tub or pool. We would stay again. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us.
