I didn't realize there would be dogs at this hotel. I suppose that's my fault but I wish that was more clear when booking. Our room didn't smell clean and I had allergic reactions the whole time. The barking wasn't too much, thankfully. We didn't have enough towels and we had no coffee cups. I was disappointed that breakfast wasn't included and the breakfast offered was ridiculously expensive, but at least waffle House is right across the street.

I had stayed at this hotel a couple of weeks prior. My experience then was good. Only had one problem, the remote for the TV didn't work. However, this stay was much different. My TV didn't work at all. I called the front desk and they said someone would be there shortly; after 20 minutes I called and the person at the front desk said he would check into why no one showed up and then proceeded to hang up on me. I thought he was going to put me on hold and let me know when maintenance would be there. So, I waited 10 minutes and called to see what he found out. At this point it was 10:15 p.m. and the front desk person asked if I wanted him to come up to my room and take a look to see if he could fix it. I asked if he knew how to fix it and he said "no". I told him it was 10:15 and I didn't want him in my room if he didn't know how to fix it. So, the following day, I talked with a lady at the front desk and she said she would get it taken care of. I returned to my room at 5:00 p.m. and it still wasn't working. So, I asked to be moved to a different room. They agreed. The other problems with my room was no coffee cups, but there was coffee, shampoo and body wash bottles were missing from the bathroom, and someone else's trash in the trash can when we arrived.

Staff was polite and friendly. The hotel is definitely dated and has seen better days. Graffiti carved on the wall in the lobby. Elevator was dirty. Room was dirty, bed stained and couch was ripped. The shampoo and body wash was missing only leaving the conditioner in the shower that is mounted. Super disappointed in this Marriott.

When I showed up for my room, they told me that even though I had a reservation they had no room for me. They said the room had a water leak and there were no others available at the hotel. In fact, all hotels within 50 miles were sold out due to hurricane Helene. My room was booked at low rate, but just prior to selling out, they were going for more than 3x that rate. I truly believe they sold my room to someone else at double the price. I had to sleep in my car that night!! I would never recommend that hotel chain to anyone.

Donā€™t use Marriott in Gastonia
Absolutely furious. Room was reserved in advance. I received confirmation. I called the hotel to let them know my daughters would be checking and would be late arriving. When they arrived the doors were locked. Then the clerk told them she didnā€™t see the room. They showed her confirmation. She said she could cancel without charge after claiming she didnā€™t see the room. She proceeded to finally admit they had overbooked and now my two daughters didnā€™t have a room. Itā€™s 1:30am at this time and no rooms available for miles. I have been a hotel.com user and I am a Marriott Silver elite member and this how my patronage is rewarded? If they were overbooked the clerk could have told me at 9pm when I called. She gave the rooms away and sent two young ladies out into the parking lot in the middle of the night. Completely unacceptable.

Awesome staff, we got stuck during Helene and they were very accommodating. That being saidā€¦ There were a few stains on the furniture and the balcony was a bit dirty. The tub also only had one working jet and the light did not work. Paid an additional fee for breakfast but was never given information about that and never offered breakfast..

The room were very spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. There was food available at the property. There are also a lot of other dining options close by. I would definitely stay there again.

I was served expired food for breakfast at this location which resulted in a loss of income from my job. Staff was incredibly rude going so far as to accuse me of theft. Room was still dirty, with used toilet paper, used shampoo bottles and use napkins stuffed into the holder. There were cockroaches in the room which I would have let go until the other things came up. The toilet ran the entire time I was there. So far, Iā€™ve had zero interaction with the hotel even though they said they were going to reconcile for these problems. Do not stay here.

The pool area and hot tub was very clean but I did not have many amenities in the room and had to keep asking for towels and toilet paper. The wallpaper by the ac unit was actually peeling from a water leak and damage. The bed was also very hard and not comfortable at all. The refrigerator was very tiny and did not have a microwave close by.
