{Sweet Pea} Central Spot for Charlotte Adventures
Comfortable. Close. Stylish. Welcome to our beautifully styled, comfortably decorated four bedroom home which is minutes from SouthEnd (walkable neighborhood with a friendly vibe + food options from fancy to casual). Open downstairs living plan. Large master bedrooms on both levels with memory foam king beds. TV's in both masters. Fully stocked kitchen. Dining room. Outdoor deck and balcony off of upstairs master. Overlooks half-acre lot. Perfect for your getaway, short or long term stay.
Absolutely incredible views of the skyline if you walk down the street a bit. Quiet street, families mostly.
This is a private, stand-alone home on approximately a half-acre lot. Fully fenced with white vinyl privacy fence.
There is a freight railroad line that is about a mile from the property, and the engine whistle is audible when the trains pass through. I have not heard it during the evening, but it is possible. I have added white noise machines and earplugs if you're a light sleeper to help just in case.
Please read the following regarding gatherings of any kind...I have had to shut down several of these with the help of the police lately. That is fun for no one.
There are to be no parties held here. This is prohibited by my own rules and VRBO's rules.
Here's a good rule of thumb - No more than 5-6 cars parked AT MY HOUSE - not in front of the neighbors, not down the street. You can fit 4-5 cars in the driveway and ONE out front. There are to be no more than 15 people on this property at anytime and all guest who are staying overnight need to be included in your reservation count.
I will detect a party in the following ways:
1. There is a doorbell camera and a floodlight camera that detect sound as well. I can see who comes and goes, and I can hear the level of noise by simply looking at my phone.
2. My neighbors all have my number and I have asked them to call me if the noise is too much or there are other disturbances occurring. They have also been told to call the police if they think it warrants it.
3. I will occasionally drive by to check on the property as I do not live that far away.
If a party is occurring, or if you have messed with my cameras, etc. to hide a party. The following will occur:
1. I will contact you for an explanation and give you a chance to fix the issue
2. If the issue is not resolved immediately, I will contact VRBO support. They will cancel your reservation and you will receive no refund.
3. I will contact the authorities to have you removed from the premises.
Long story short - DO NOT EVEN THINK OF THROWING A PARTY HERE. IT WILL NOT END WELL.
I hate that it’s necessary to lay this all out in such a way, ideally I could just say “no parties” and be done with it, but turns out not to be true.
***Here are some handy Drive times to Charlotte attractions: 3 Minutes to SouthEnd 3 Minutes to Revolution Park Golf Course 4 Minutes to Ray's Splash Planet 5 Minutes to Uptown Charlotte & Discovery Place 5 Minutes to Bank of America Stadium 5 Minutes to Nascar Hall of Fame 7 Minutes to Metropolitan 7 Minutes to Music Factory (Fillmore, VBGB, Charlotte Metro Union Amphitheater) 8 Minutes to Spectrum Arena 8 Minutes to the Blumenthal 10 Minutes to Freedom Park 11 Minutes to Ovens Auditorium 12 Minutes to NoDa (North Davidson) 12 Minutes to Plaza Midwood 12 Minutes to Charlotte Douglas Airport 15 Minutes to Northlake Mall 15 Minutes to South Park 16 Minutes to UNCC 16 Minutes to Carowinds Amusement Park 17 Minutes to Concord Mills Mall 17 Minutes to WWC (White Water Center) 18 Minutes to Ballantyne 31 Minutes to Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden
I strongly prefer text messages through the VRBO app so that everything is on the level. If I am not available, I will usually be available to answer questions or help out as well.

I loved it until....
Our start at the Sweet Pea was cool overall. However, we had several moments where we didn't enjoy it. Number 1; we were uncomfortable with the number of windows that did not have either blinds or curtains. We felt like people could see in while we were relaxing in the front room. The grass in the back yard was not cut and there was dog waste in the grass. Lastly, there was pretty hair on the upstairs beds and the sofa. Causing most of us to have severe allergies. Lastly, we saw small roaches in the kitchen on the countertop and in the panty crawling on a bag of sugar, that we threw out. While we did like the house, these things took away from our stay.

Not the worst
The overall stay was okay. The hot tub didn’t look that clean so we didn’t use it. The downstairs shower has a window in it that’s covered in mold. I felt the property could have been cleaner. However it was only a one night stay for us so wasn’t gonna stress it.

Not exactly what we wanted
The house is old. Renovated in part yes but needs more than cosmetic work. The floors seem like it needs leveling. The bathroom had hairs in one and it was sooo small, the other tub needs resurfacing and better cleaning. No one used that one based on looks alone. Coverage (curtains/blinds) needed on the bedroom window upstairs and the back door. The furniture in all the bedrooms seemed like it came from temu and we were nervous they would break under our weight and we are not big people. Low to the ground. We contemplated leaving early and getting a hotel (we only booked for a night). Wash machine was broken. Couldn’t tell if the sheets had been washed before. Pictures on site are probably from when it first came available. Yard was large in back but not kept. Definitely someone’s investment property. A place to lay your head but I won’t use again. Process to book and check in and out great. Host was communicative. Kitchen and living area had nice upgrades.

Not a good place to stay
When we arrived the place was not cleaned at all. The cleaner came and we could not get into the house for another hour. The place was very dingy and I would not recommend staying here at all

Short stay
We were allowed early access to the house which was appreciated. We were there for less than 24 hours so did not use the ample back yard or hot tub. An older home with it's quirks. The temperature in the house was a little tricky to regulate but manageable. The upstairs TV did not work I believe because there was not a remote that we could get to work. We appreciated the coffee for our early am check out.

Misleading posting
Communication with the host was immaculate when I requested to add a day to the front end because we weren’t too sure arrival time when traveling from Maryland to NC for a cheer competition. After that, communication was horrid. When we arrived to the house, it wasn’t clean and gave a feeling of discomfort almost immediately. We left our bags to go and grab lunch, and returned to eat before we dropped our girls to practice. Once there, we decided to wait for them so that we all could make a walmart run before heading back to the rental. After returning from walmart, things quickly turned. Noticing a stink bug, turned into seeing several ROACHES crawling up the wall and on bed sheets. And there was no door knob on the inside of the restroom, someone got locked in the restroom because of this. I immediately contacting the host via vrbo with no response. I did find a cell number an hour and decided to try that-- no answer. I then texted, only for him to reply being rude as if this mishap was our fault. He promised a full refund via text, and then only released less than half because he said "he sprayed for bugs less than a month before". This host/property should NOT be listed on VRBO.. please find somewhere else to stay. It was DISGUSTING and the host was no better! I wish I could attach photos of what this house really looks like. The photo's here are very misleading! We had to book a hotel and leave. Luckily we found one.1500 characters is not enough to explain everything.

We stayed here with our 6 grown and 1 teen children and went to a concert at the Spectrum Center. This property couldn’t have been more perfect! Beautiful. Clean, super comfortable. Lots of extras. And unlike many properties minimal requests before you leave. It could not have been more perfect!

Exactly what we needed
This place was exactly what we needed after driving in from Buena Vista VA, on our way to the airport. We would have liked to stay a couple nights and enjoy the property but this time is was just a one night stay. We would stay here again if traveling through NC.

Wedding visit
The location was great! It was within 10 min of downtown and the airport. The neighborhood felt a little sketchy and not one I felt comfortable being out alone in especially since I like to walk in the mornings. The neighborhood is the only reason I would not stay here again especially with younger kids. The house was nice but bathrooms definitely needed a deep cleaning. Owner was very responsive and easy to communicate with.

passing through
During a long trip we stayed one night. Communication was great, the home was ready and had everything we needed. The problem is the location. I hadn't researched the area, which is my fault, but the neighborhoods were pretty run down. My family and I didn't feel all that comfortable. The most difficult thing to deal with is the train. Three times throughout the night the train came through and it's loud. Sadly

Great location
The location was great for where we needed to be. The neighborhood has some newer remodeled houses showing that the neighborhood is being revitalized. The listing mentions the trains. They are very close and some nights there were more of them than others. Trains don't bother everyone but definitely be aware you can hear them. Our group agreed the beds were comfortable. We also agreed that the bathrooms could use some updating. Not everyone has the same expectations. Overall we had an ok stay.

Comfortable, Roomy and Great Location in Charlotte
Allen is a fabulous host, communicating all the details a guest needs to check in easily and who answers questions quickly.
The home was very comfortable (slept two of the best nights of my life in the upstairs King bed!), spacious with four bedrooms, a large kitchen with sit at island, a nice dining room, large family room and fantastically huge back yard (so jealous of that long, grassy yard).
This location was close to the restaurants, music venue and highway we used but still a quiet, secure home away from home.
And, most of all, the home was well worth the value. He chose Allen's home versus an expensive, small downtown hotel room or other VRBO options.
Thanks again, Allen, for your warm hospitality and sharing your roomy home with us!

Football Convenience
We decided to get a VRBO for the Tennessee vs NC State college football game at Bank of America Stadium. This home was in a great spot just a few short minutes away from the downtown scene. It was easy to find, It was easy and cheap to get an Uber to and from our activities. I recommend this property for your stay in Charlotte. It is in a cute quiet safe neighborhood that has a lot of character. Older homes that have or are going through a fix up stage. I recommend staying there and would go back and stay again if the opportunity comes up again.

Well appointed home
The home offered everything we needed for an overnight stay in Charlotte. The kitchen was well appointed with the downstairs offering an open concept design. The neighborhood was close to downtown activities and safe. Our pup loved the very large and secure backyard! Being the height of summer, we were surprised no AC was on at the property; it was 84 downstairs and 95 degrees upstairs upon our arrival. It took several hours for the home to cool. Also we couldn’t get the downstairs shower knob to produce hot water - leaving us with one shower for use. Overall, great property!
