Welcome to Bumby Cabin — a hand-crafted cabin home tucked away in the mountainous woods of Whittier, NC. Not only is this getaway highly accessible year-round, but she has the best of both worlds. Come be a part of nature — go fly fishing for trout; hike to waterfalls in Great Smoky National Park; tube down the Tuckaseegee with a panoramic mountain view. Then go explore more of what the surrounding area has to offer. Bumby cabin is less than a fifteen minute drive to the quaint downtown areas of Sylva and Dillsboro, where you can stroll along the river after enjoying local eats and drinks. In a desirable location between Bryson City and downtown Cherokee, you can spend the day shopping and dining, or check out Harrah’s Cherokee Casino. Feeling extra adventurous? Take a day trip, and explore some of the many exciting nearby cities, including Asheville, Gatlinburg, and Pigeon Forge.

Bumby cabin was lovingly renovated to accentuate the cabin feel and to create the perfect getaway atmosphere. This two bedroom, two bath cabin features a new kitchen with island, a custom daybed and reading nook. Kick off your boots and fire up the grill, taking your pick of either charcoal or propane. In the evening, spend time cozying up on the expansive, double-story deck, complete with rocking chairs and adjustable string lights. Roast marshmallows for s’mores over the fire pit while fireflies flicker through the trees. Perfect for couples or a family of up to five, there’s something for everyone at Bumby cabin.

This means that our roads- both state and private- will be steeper, narrower, and curvier than you may be use to driving. Also, you should expect to encounter gravel roads. Annual Edwards Family Vacation!
This was our first year in this cabin, and we plan to stay here again on our next trip! It's close to Bryson City and Cherokee. Phone service was good, and the internet was "ok," but with phone service, we were good! The kids enjoyed the upstairs.

Perfect getaway for our family!
Property was clean, convenient, and just as shown online. Perfect getaway spot for a small family- our kids are 3 years old and thought the property was AMAZING! Convenient location just 15 min or so from Bryson City, Cherokee, and all sorts of things to do. Yellow Rose property management was great to deal with. Would absolutely recommend!

The stay was very enjoyable. Feel the directions should be updated as there was no lock box or key but there was a code and the direction were consistent with GPS. The living room furniture was “doll size “ not very comfortable and easy to get up and down from. We had a full iternary and made lots of great memories.

My husband and I brought two of our daughters and had a wonderful time. The property was very neat and tidy and the management team very professional. The battery in one of the automatic locks died and a gentleman from maintenance was there within 20 minutes. He was super helpful and friendly. This trip was a really great experience.

The cabin itself was nice but we did not particularly like the location. The cabin is located near a Pepsi warehouse so we didn’t necessarily like that part. Unfortunately we had to cut our trip short due to the cabin not having any water during our entire stay there due to the weather. Thankfully Yellow Rose issued us a refund.

Very pretty cabin, on the small side. Don't recommend for two families...maybe one family with small children. Internet did not work at all during the five days we were there. Would have loved to enjoy the hot tub, but instead had to drive around looking for internet to check urgent emails. Asked for a small refund for the inconvenience, but no response from managing company. Fireplace not hooked up.

This was my husband and my first time in North Carolina and we were looking for a place to stay that was close to the GSM and Blue Ridge Parkway (on the quieter side of the Smokies). We loved the cabin and wished we could stay there longer.

Nice cabin!
I was a little worried about the “contract rules” but once we called and spoke with someone they eased my thoughts!! Go in and make yourself at home! It’s beautiful and cozy. It’s tucked in away from traffic. Really Nice inside. The drive way is hard to reverse from…we have a bigger dodge truck…upstairs bathroom toilet space is a bit small… Has all the cooking accessories.. If you want a nice getaway this is a place to go. Outside porch area is very spacious. We enjoyed!

We visited this getaway cabin, with the intention of just kicking back, unplugging from the "Rat Race" and simply Relaxing. This cabin gave us all of the above, and more. We would definitely recommend to our friends.

Check in process is easy. Description is inaccurate. Sleeper sofa is totally broken. Sulfur/septic smell real bad. When I booked it shows hot tub but when we got there there was no hot tub at all.

I’ll not use VRBO again
The property was nice check in smooth, however there is non-refundable policy and a rental agreement that’s as long as the one I signed to buy my house (slight exaggeration) but not much, I was afraid to do anything in the house but sleep and shower due to all the fees associated with actually “living” in the rental. You don’t get any of this information until you pay the deposit (non-refundable) clearly I understand why! With all the rules I would have definitely moved on, but in this time 100.00 is alit off money, there’s not even a 24h hold to review the contract to give you an out ........otherwise cabin was super clean, full kitchen stocked with dishes if you dared to use them, dish soap and dishwasher. we elected to eat out. I travel all over the world and this was the first time I have been disappointed in my contract.
