The front of Hotel Shiva at first glance doesn’t seem like much but their lagoon property view has the WOW factor and a very good reason to stay there. The rooms are well kept and have what you expect. Not sure about the other rooms but mine had no tv or mini fridge. We did have breakfast there which was good and convenient. Would stay again and recommend.

If you want a romantic getaway this place is it , very private and semi secluded. The scenery is perfect as you are across from a bird sanctuary area. Kayaks and paddle boards are included in your stay and the staff will get you what you need from food and drinks . Definitely will come back soon!

Casa shiva Bacalar
Nice manager and staff. Very relaxing place, well maintained. If something could be improved, it would be the breakfast The location and peacefulness of the hotel is wonderful.

Excelente lugar, la vista a la laguna es preciosa y la habitación estaba en perfectas condiciones como se ve en las fotos. La única sugerencia es tener disponibles los kayaks para los huéspedes, la mayoría de hoteles los dan como cortesía. El desayuno incluido tiene muy buena presentación y completo. Muy recomendado!

Everything was great except the 1st night we stayed in the dome. When we 1st got in our room it was warm, we attributed it to the outside climate, however after the AC stopped running,they swapped us rooms and thats when we realized the AC wasn't working as intended the previous day (new room was really fresh). I brought it up to the receptionist but they told me i should've brought it up earlier even though i had no idea that wasn't how it was supposed to be ( I had nothing to compare it to). Everything else was great.

Great location
Great location on a quiet part of the lagoon. Nice dock out into the lagoon, shallow part is nice for swimming. Staff was friendly and got our room together before check in time. Bed was comfortable. Not much for amenities, could have used a fridge in the room. Door to room had wood louvres and could have used a screen. Mosquitoes are abundant in Bacalar. Overall a nice stay. Would stay again.

It’s a eco friendly hotel with a great dock the water is very clear and perfect for swing one of the best areas of the lagoon.
