The location is excellent. The property is just so so. The lobby and most of the hotel smells like weed. Guys smoking weed right outside the front door when we arrived probably have something to do with that. Staff not friendly but the rooms are clean and a good size.

The experience was perfectly good EXCEPT- The valet service employs at least one criminal. Two credit cards that were left in the car had fraudulent charges within a day of staying at the hotel. They didn't steal the card, but they obtained all the info they needed to use the account. IDK what else the criminal(s) might do, but do not leave anything valuable for them.

Staff was professional, nice and helpful. The check in and out process was smooth and quick. The hotel appeared clean. The only downside was the hallways were very dark (walls painted dark grey & lighting very dim). This was my first trip to Chicago and this hotel was in the perfect location.

I love the 21c because it’s a great hotel concept that showcases great contemporary artists and provides outstanding service with special touches. The location of the Chicago promos steps from Michigan avenue and walkable distance from Lake Michigan.

The staff were great! The suite didn’t have half the stuff in it that it said on the website. No free water, no kettle no fridge / mini bar / the shampoo and body wash were empty and we asked them to be refilled but it didn’t happen. The internet hardly worked. Very noisy in the room from the street below. The lifts were dirty.

The “suites” were vey nice, clean, modern. Location was central to being close to museums and Michigan Ave, and State Street restaurants, although the’re in-house restaurant was perfect for breakfast and afternoon “oysters and a whisky” before dinner.
