The Acme Hotel Company was a solid choice. Excellent location, it was very quiet the whole time. Easy to walk to good places to eat and the magnificent mile. Less than a mile to the art Institute of Chicago.

Can not recommend. I got a good rate (~$150/ night) & would stay here again for that value. However, I've seen this hotel rate a night be a lot higher & definitely would recommend you go elsewhere if the rate is high & you have the budget to stay somewhere else. The #1 reason I would hesitate to stay here again is due to the bed pillows. They became super thin & flat right away even if you stack all 4 that come standard w/ the room together. I need bed pillows that have more support (the type of pillows that you find at most hotels). The mattress was just ok. While I didn't notice it interfering w/ my ability to sleep it was loosing it's firmness as it had a dip/caving in in the middle. There is no room service if you are looking for lunch/dinner on site be aware of this. There are restaurants & a Jewel Osco close by. There is a breakfast place in the hotel called West Town Bakery that I did not get the chance to try: "Sustainable bakery serving organic goodies, breakfast fare, coffee & sandwiches in the Acme Hotel." (4.1 Stars on Google) I had pretty high hopes given the high ratings (4.5 Stars on Google, 9/10 on Expedia at the time of my stay), but my experience left me underwhelmed & baffled at the high ratings of other hotel goers. Safety concern: My door lock (the security swing door lock) for extra protection was very wobbly & didn't feel secure safety wise. The sprinkler in the bedroom had like an inch of dust caked onto it, the bathroom one was clean.

This was a perfect spot to access all the fun Chicago has to offer! We stayed with my family including kids. The staff was great, room was clean and comfortable, and the location was superb! Access to the Red Line train was on the same block and very walkable to Michigan Ave and all the shops. Would definitely stay here again!

This was my first time in Chicago and this cute little boutique hotel is located right in the heart of everything. We were able to walk to reaturants, do shopping, and so close to all the attractions. The room was larger than expected and its has such a unique feel. The only negative is the pillows were super FLAT & UNCOMFORTABLE.

The location is great, River North close to a block with many food options and perfectly in between Lincoln Park and The Loop. The room was extremely dark, cleaning went as far as dusting what you can see. I accidentally put my foot a little bit under the sink basin and it was sticky. L The bed was comfortable but (too) soft on one side, but the other side had broken springs resulting in an uncomfortable sleep constantly slightly rolling out. There is plenty of space for a wardrobe if shelves but instead you get a few hangers. The space just isn't utilised well.
