The lobby, hallways, elevators and guest room floor were filthy. People were smoking in the non smoking guest rooms. It felt like a college dorm from the 1990s.

Room was clean and comfortable. Front desk staff was friendly and courteous. However, there were no USB plug in ports anywhere in the room. I’ve never stayed in a hotel that didn’t have USB plug ins for electronics!

Specifically requested a quiet room. I called the hotel directly and the desk clerk left me hanging on the line 3 times and had to call back twice. In the end, I was assured they could accommodate.then on arrival, placed us in a room on the side of the building where every 20 minutes a very loud commuter train transits; waking us. When I picked up the room key, the assigned room had not been cleaned. At reservation the app doesn’t tell you that parking is $18 a day. Don’t waste your money.

Pros - Friendly staff especially @ restaurant & front desk - Pretty decent $10 breakfast - Rooms are a good size with decent desk and chair to relax, though slightly run down - Very close to subway station making it convenient to explore the city - Reasonably close to the Lake Michigan shoreline & Northwesten University - Close to some good restaurants and stores - Situated in a nice neighborhood Cons - Can be noisy as its close to the commuter rail & subway lines - Hallways & rooms have a musty smell. Needed: ditch the carpets! - Pillows are too soft & beds lack support
