This is a new property with a mix of hostel and hotel accommodation. I stayed in the hotel section and the room was clean but not particularly well sound proofed. The hotel also relies on technology for online self check-in and a digital key via an app. I found the check-in process to have a few issues and ended up having to check-in in person once I arrived at the hotel. However, I'm sure these bugs will be ironed out over time.

The staff are very friendly and eager to assist. The entire facility is excellent and offers a variety of activities. The room is warm, comfortable, and clean. However, there are quite a few stairs. If you have large luggage, you'll need to carry it up some steps when entering, and if you're staying in a loft room, there are stairs to navigate as well. Private rooms don't have a minibar, so you'll need to bring a water bottle to the common area to get water. This might be inconvenient for those staying in loft rooms. Other than that, everything else is excellent.

As a family we weren’t sure this new type of accommodation would be suited to us. We were wrong. The staff were friendly and so helpful. We met other people in the communal areas. It was safe and secure with modern up to date equipment and technology. A old building repurposed. Drifter is in the perfect position to centre of town. Close to supermarket places to eat , coffee and bus exchange. Well worth staying .
