If you’re finicky then this is not the place for you. I had to interact with the front desk through glass. The safety latch on my room door was missing. There was a hole in the wall. A cigarette burn on the sheets. And the front desk clerk demanded that I pay the safety deposit in cash which I did get back on check out.

At this price point I was expecting it to be sketchy, but Travel Inn set a new bar for sketch. When I arrived at 11pm to check in, I was directed to a bullet-proof wicket where I had to stuff my ID and papers through a slot. Obviously this motel is used for a lot of shady business, as I had to sign a fairly extensive waiver at check-in. There was a lot grilling about who would be in the room and what I would be doing. After much photocopying of IDs and establishing of paper trail, I was given my room key. On the way to my room I passed the pool area, which had a sign saying WARNING - POOL CLOSED. This sign was fairly unnecessary as the pool was covered and there was some kind of brown and yellow growth all over the cover. Arriving at my room I immediately noticed that the door had clearly been forced open numerous times in the past; the frame was dented and chipped around the handle. Inside, the security latch had been broken off. The room. Stains everywhere, holes in walls/doors, burn marks on the tub, sink wouldn’t drain. There was one bar of soap, but no shampoo or even a cup in the bathroom. When I went to get into the bed, I found there was no top sheet. At that point staff had left for the night, so I had to sleep directly under the horrible stained bedspread. I soon discovered there were train tracks nearby and the diesel horn blasts ensured regular awakenings. At 6am I couldn’t stay in that disgusting bed any longer, so I got up and got the hell out of there.

It took over a half hour to get checked in. Only one lamp in the room. Too many people hanging around the parking area. No fridge, no microwave. Advertised breakfast but no breakfast. I still have not received deposit back.

Scuzzy hotel
We had to fight with the staff to at least give us one more towel as there was only one towel and then there was one roll of 2/3 toilet paper gone, and the one that was on the wall had three sheets left. The room smelled of cigarettes when we paid for a non-smoking room.
