Great property, with some surprises
This rental was a beautiful property set on a ridge overlooking a green valley of olive groves, vineyards and farms and the village of Citta Sant’Angelo on the next ridge over. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was nice, the pool was clean and fun. The host provided good information about nearby restaurants. For families, there were plenty of activities.
There were some surprises in the rental. Without garbage service at the property, we were provided with two garbage bags for one week and told that garbage and recycling was to be hauled to public dumpsters two towns over. The washing machine is shared with the other property in the duplex. Cable television didn’t really work.
Also, the host surprised us with a request to leave €30 in cash as an “energy fee” for using the air conditioning, which was listed as an amenity. The cash payment cleaning fee was also increased between what was listed on the listing and what was requested to be paid. It’s disappointing to get squeezed for a little extra after paying a fair, and agreed-upon rate for a week’s rental.
