With flexibility on arrival day and a minimum of a 3 night stay, this tastefully decorated cottage, available all-year round, is fully equipped and suitable for couples, solo guests, business travellers, and families (regret not suitable for children under 6 years of age). The house has fast broadband, free wi-fi included, and French and British TV and free Netflix on a new Smart TV. If you are here for work, we now have a work station and chair, complete with USB and ethernet connections to flat screen. There are two pretty bedrooms, one double and one twin, a bathroom and two WCs. The private garden with seating area is loved by our guests as is the eating area, BBQ and 'quiet corner'. Sun-loungers and deck-chairs complete the exterior layout.
Note; price is all-inclusive, no extra cleaning or electricity charge. Linen and towels included and heating in the winter. A new eco-friendly heat pump has been installed for winter months, which is reversible in the summer to offer air-conditioning. There is also a cosy traditional log burner and we supply the first night's logs free of charge. A welcome pack is proving popular with our guests.
This is a spacious cottage within walking distance of the historic town centre and a few metres from the River Charente. The new leisure centre with two swimming pools (heated, one indoor, one outdoor) and gym is just a 5 minute stroll away. The house is fully equipped for all-year-round stays, complete with garden furniture and BBQ you can just relax away from the stresses of every day life. A five minute walk brings you to the heart of Civray with its bars, restaurants, boulangeries, private cinema, shops, new leisure centre with two swimming pools. Alternatively, you can stroll along the River Charente that flows through the town. If you fancy travelling out of town, you are on the edge of beautiful rural France with its fields of sunflowers, woodland and meadows. Local attractions include 'La Vallée des Singes" (Monkey Valley) where you can walk among the apes, set in a beautiful park. Futuroscope at nearby Poitiers is the largest attraction in France after Disneyland Paris and hosts a science and media-interactive park, events and concerts. A visit to nearby L'Isle Jourdain allows the adventurer in you to bungee jump off the famous viaduct, but if you don't fancy that a stroll along the river and lunch in the charming town is equally as enjoyable.
Other pretty towns abound including Ruffec, Niort, and Angouleme where each year there is an historic car race and rally that runs around the ancient ramparts of the town. A must for vintage car enthusiasts! Cognac with its tours of tasting houses is just an hour away and La Rochelle on the coast just 1 1/2 hours. This really is an excellent base for exploring any part of France. Even Paris is only 1 1/4 hours away by fast TGV train boarding this direct service at nearby Poitiers,or pick up a locol train at nearby St. Saviol The service also takes one directly into the terminals at Charles de Gaulle airport
.If watersports are your thing, there is canoeing available at nearby Le Rejallant with canoeruffec.fr, in the summer months. Or why not have a peaceful morning's fishing in the river or nearby Lakes? Licences are readily available locally.

The town street lights go out at 10 pm, so this is perfect for star-gazing while you relax in the garden.
