Not having a key to the main door and to the parking garage was inconvenient. After dark they lock the main door, and we had to wait for someone to come open. Same for the parking. We had to stop by the hotel to get someone to go open the parking garage. Not the best process.

My stay in Coban
The hotel is located in the downtown area. It’s a very small hotel with little personnel. It has parking but one block away. You have to walk with your suitcase and other bags. The cafeteria has limited service so I would recommend you eat before you get there.

Lovely stay in colonial house
Lovely colonial style home-turned-hotel. I’d say it’s more of a B&B rather than hotel. The stay was comfortable, the staff were super attentive and went above and beyond. The only negative remarks: the wifi was a bit weak and the house gates remain locked and you have to knock and disturb the security guard to let you in. That aside, it was a lovely stay.

We have never stayed in Cobán before, so I do not have a basis to compare. But our overall impression was this was a really nice, quaint, family-run hotel. The staff, which consisted of the owner and perhaps a grandson or a family friend, were extremely helpful and nice. The decor consisted of a lot of cool antics like a juke box. Our grandson was also impressed with the “retro”television sets in the rooms.
