A great little find in beautiful bit of Costa Rica
Fantastic B&B. Judy, the owner is brilliant. Really knows the area and will help you have the best time. She's very proactive and gets in touch soon after you book looking to help with trips etc. Trust her. Best food in the area too. Was there for Xmas dinner too and her friends are pretty fun as well. A real find.

A welcome surprise!
We booked our stay at Vista Hermosa based on Traveller reviews so were expecting something pretty nice but this lovel B&B far exceeded our expectations. The house is located in a quiet and safe rural residential neighbourhood a 15 minute walk to a local beach and a few minutes by car to Playa Tambor. The private air conditioned casita that we stayed in had a very comfortable King-sized bed with ample seating and a nice little cooking and food prep area. The breakfast was simply delicious, expertly prepared and graciously served. We encouraged the delightful owner and host, Judy, (a fellow Canadian) to share her Costa Rican experience and she regaled us with amusing and informative stories of her adventures during her time living and operating a business in Costa Rica. she even invited us to join her for a social visit to the neighbours which turned out to be a most engaging and entertaining evening. We highly recommend that other visitors to the Tambor area include Vista Hermosa in their travel plans for a rare and welcome treat.

Great base to explore the area
Stayed at super cosy and personal Vista Hermosa during our Road Trip in Costa Rica - enjoyed the closeness to Santa Teresa and beaches as well as the great service at the hotel - highly recommend a dinner there - Judy makes a great steak! Judy was also great help recommending activities - she even organises tours and if asked shares a of great insights. Would make Vista Hermosa my first stop and Judy my main point of contact for the next visit!

Best in Costa Rica
For a B&B, and for that matter best place we stayed in Costa Rica. Loved the vibe and the dogs, and the beach is closeby. However, expect natural beauty and you will not be disppointed.

Last stop....paradise
Vista hermosa was the last stop on our 2 week excursion around Costa Rica. It was the perfect way to end our trip. Judy was very helpful in helping us locate the hotel and she gave us great advice on things to do in the area. Judy was friendly, welcoming, and a great host. She is also very knowledgable about Costa Rica and how to get the best out all the activities around the area. The hotel was amazing! It was extremely clean and our room was super comfortable. There's a bar/lounge area where you can just enjoy nature at its fullest. The breakfast was delicious every morning and the steak dinners were a delight. Service was outstanding! I truly recommend this place if you want to take a break from the ongoing daily activities of Costa Rica and rest among nature, comfort, and great company.

WEBSITE WITH MISLEADING INFORMATIONS
DON’T book this B&B, the description on the website doesn't match AT ALL what you get. We booked this trip through Expedia and we were supposed to get a private APARTMENT with bathroom, living room and kitchen. Upon our arrival, they decided to give us a different room (which was cheaper than the one we reserved). This given apartment has NO PRIVACY because was shared with Judy the owner’s room and it didn't have a working kitchen. Our bathroom’s had a out of service bidet with a small and uncomfortable bath tub. Our room was very dusty and the pillows smelled, probably they didn't changed them for a while. She welcomed us saying that we were lucky enough that she accepted us because we had a 2 years old daughter and apparently it's not a kids friendly hotel (Expedia never mentioned this, neither the Hotel even through our phone and email conversations). We bought an excursion to Isla Tortuga trhough the hotel , which was beautiful but we fund out it was OVERPRICED compare to others. Our daughter didn't pay but she didn't get any food and they wouldn't even sell it because they didn't have enough! Also our boat was driven by an adult and a 10 years old boy. I didn't feel safe at all!!! As if it was not enough the website says it is only 10 minutes “walking” distance from the beach, the reality is 20-30 minutes of walking up and down the hill and on top of that the beach is full of garbage! We ended up moving to Santa Teresa even if they didn’

A remote jail with a view!
My 3 night stay with a friend at Vista Hermosa was the most awkward and uncomfortable hotel stay I’ve had despite the beautiful location. Called prior to reserving to confirm the location, food options, etc. The series of events that followed were worthy of a comedy film. Upsides: property is very beautiful, well kept, immaculate room with large bathroom, attentive staff, and two sweet dogs that double as beach tour guides. Downsides: Property advertised as non-smoking but the owner, Judy, chain-smokes in the lobby next to guest rooms. Loud music played from 9am-9pm directly next to guest rooms (no napping). I recommend a rental car. Per our phone conversation I didn't feel she was very honest about the remoteness of the property. Once we realized walking to town wasn’t an option we felt like slaves to the property. A menu w/ pricing isn’t provided as the owner stated it was all memorized. The food was okay but resort pricing was questionable at times. We weren’t informed guests are locked IN the building at night which was a fire hazard and enough to cause a panic attack. My husband had to call from the USA to have the owner unlock the doors in which she pretended it had been open the entire time. While the owner seems to be a kind person who means well, I often felt like I was being taken advantage of. I have lived, worked, and frequently travel to CR and was surprised by the owners racially and socially ignorant comments.

Great place to stay on the end of the Nicoya
We had a wonderful time during our stay at the Vista Hermosa Boutique B&B. Judy and Javier provide hospitality and meals that are top notch. Although it seemed a little out of the way at first it was well worth while and the quiet setting provided a very relaxing atmosphere. We had a rental car so all nearby points were easily accessible. The grounds and buildings are very well maintained and located in a beautifully landscaped setting. If you are planning some time in the beautiful southern Nicoya peninsula, I highly recommend that you reserve some time at the Vista Hermosa Boutique B&B.

Small hotel in lovely grounds, fabulous staff.
We felt more like house guests than hotel guests, which was very relaxing. Comfortable beds, good size shower and bathroom, plenty of good-sized towels. Food was great, best steak I have ever eaten, freshly cooked each evening with fresh ingredients. Peaceful location, great to hear the howler monkeys calling in the distance during the day. Plenty of birds to see in the garden too. Gentle dogs in residence who will escort you to the beach and back if you want. Pool was lovely to relax in after a hard day's sight-seeing, temperature was just right. Plenty of room to sit and chill if you didn't want to go out. Good internet connectivity.

Hospitality lives large at Villa Vista Hermosa
Judy, the owner of this B & B puts a lot of pride into her services. The grounds are gorgeous with an imaculate pool. Her business partner, Javier, is a local who shares his vast knowledge of the area, has an amazing service ethic and made the stay a complete pleasure. He took me on a jungle tour where we saw howler monkeys and a white-faced monkey. The meals are exquisite, the rooms are lovely and comfortable, and the company is fantastic. I will definitely return. Judy and Javier make this the best place to stay in Costa Rica.

Hidden gem
The moment we arrived, we were welcomed with an amazing tropical cocktail (o.k., cocktails) and already felt at home. This property is just GORGEOUS! The main house and rooms are spotless, the gardening and landscaping are absolutely beautiful, and the service is impeccable. Judy and Javier are AMAZING! Two of the most hospitable people ever. Anything you ask for, you shall receive. The food was cooked to order and was always hot, fresh and delicious. We took the ATV tour guided by Javier and saw every part of Tambor and the surrounding towns ... I would highly recommend this tour. If you ever make it to Tambor, please stay at the Villas Vista Hermosa and experience the hospitality of Judy and Javier, in addition to this beautiful hidden gem. Tell them Kim and Mike from L.A. say hello.

Would definitely go back
We were pleasantly surprised. Went alone with my four-year-old son, and my room opened right to the pool so we could easily go back-and-forth. The location was isolated, so not a good spot if you're looking for a "happening" place. Some ants in the room, but Javier was helpful in getting rid of them. Very attentive staff. Tiny B&B, at-home feeling, felt very safe. Excellent food, made to order. We ate all our meals there. The beach was a short distance, but a steep hike - great for me, but not good for a little kid. I would go into town (10-15 min. drive) for the beach instead of going to the close one - in addition, the beach in town is cleaner, more pleasant. This is a great place to stay the night before or after flying into Tambor.

the best plaee we stayed, hands down.
Stay here! This was the best place we stayed on our road trip in Costa Rica. The property is excellent, the food was great, the location is ideal. There are create towns in the area, beautiful beaches, and awesome hiking to the waterfalls. Not only was our stay perfect, the information Judy and Javier gave us on our route made the duration of our trip in Costa Rica that much better... This is the way to go... great for all types/ages/interests. 100%- I am recommending this place to everybody I know.

Great B&B in Santa Teresa
Perfect place to stay for a few days. The property is beautiful, close to the beach. The people who run the place, Judy and Javier, are really cool and made us feel right at home. Breakfast every morning was great. We had them make us dinner one night (surf and turf) and it was amazing. We also took a horseback riding tour w/ Javier and had a great time. We stayed in the 'Coco Loco' room and it was really nice, clean, and private; also had a huge spa tub. All and all we were really impressed with Villas Vista Hermosa and look forward to going back soon.

Judy and Javier were very friendly, going out of their way to make us comfortable. The pool was nice and we enjoyed the jacuzzi tub in the room. The house is beautiful and the nearby beach is also very scenic - we saw monkeys, an armadillo, and a number of parrots and other birds on our walk down to the beach.

We book this B&B as a stop over to our next destination. It was great. I felt like I went to visit my aunt. It's a private house turned into B&B. They serve amazing coctails and great breakfast. Beach is about 10 minutes walk down the hill, beach is your tipical vocanic beach undisturbed by tourists. We saw monkey's on our way down. Great Place
