Enjoy a magical time at The LakeStar Retreat at beautiful Gotham Bay on Lake Coeur d Alene, along the Lake Coeur d'Alene Scenic Byway. Your charming private suite on a separate private floor with two decks and bathroom also has majestic lake views from all rooms. This suite has a "kitchenette" with microwave, frig, toaster oven and Keurig coffee maker and outdoor grill. There is a private entrance to your separate floor too. So comfortable queen bed with the sound of the lake lapping you to sleep. And on those cold days, let your bare feet enjoy the heated floor in your suite. And, there is a separate room with an indoor/outdoor fireplace and TV for your exclusive use. Enjoy the outdoor shower too along with the hot tub! Enjoy your peaceful days down at the dock where you can park your boat, fish for small mouth bass and swim. There is a 3 minute rustic path down to the lake (requires some hiking skills). Several local hiking and biking options. Famous resort golf course, shopping and restaurants only 25 minutes to charming Coeur d 'Alene. Laundry too!
We do want to note that we are on a hillside, and that regular use of indoor and/or exterior stairs is necessary.
NOTE ON WINTER VISITS: If you choose to visit us when there is snow and/or ice on the ground, we require that you have at minimum an all wheel drive and some experience driving on snow and ice. The road close to us is always kept open. Our access road is also always kept open, and can be difficult at times without all wheel drive and some experience driving on snow/ice. In addition, we often close the private entrance to your suite for safety, but not to worry, as the front door leads immediately to your suite.

Misleading Listing - Nice Place
We had a nice time at this stay - it’s a beautiful property and was very clean. However, this listing is quite misleading. The stay is in the lower level of the hosts’ home and is not entirely private / segregated. If this is the type of stay you are hosting, it should be extremely clear on the listing so people know what they are paying for. We were looking for seclusion on the lake and instead were instructed to enter through the front door of the hosts’ home. VRBO should not allow this type of false advertising, especially given that their whole marketing strategy is that they “only offer private stays.”

A view from every room.
My wife and I have wanted to visit family in Idaho but wanted our own getaway. We found this place and we couldn’t have been happier. The host promptly answered our question prior to our arrival he gave suggestions if we wanted to stop for dinner prior to our arrival. He meet us when we arrived and give us a tour of the property. It is nestled on a hillside overlooking the lake. There is a view from every room including the bathroom. There are 2 decks to relax outside and you are a 2 minute walk to a private dock. I’m new to fishing and couldn’t wait to try. I caught many bass, from small to some over 5lbs. I caught my first pike and that was amazing. You’re about a 35 minute drive to Lake Coeur d’elane resort which was busy with shops, restaurants and a long bike/walking trail along the lake. Our favorite day was when we drove to the town of Harrison,where we rode our bike along the lake for a 30 mile round trip. When we got back we enjoyed a nice lunch and then ice cream in the park while watching a live band. The people were friendly and we had a blast. So if you want a great place in a great location where you can enjoy peace and quiet while not being too far from touristy things, this is the place to do it. My wife and I couldn’t have been happier with our stay.

Peaceful and relaxing stay
It is a great property for a couple. Don't expect a lot of kitchen space, but for summer it is ideal with BBQ to cook outside. We enjoyed a living space, both patios and a deck on the lake. My only recommendation for Ted is to do something with wasps. It was impossible to eat outside. On the other note, I would update listening by saying that Wi-Fi is not available. But in general, we had a very relaxing time and fully recharged our social batteries in this quiet and rural area. Ted and Bonnie are great hosts. Thank you both!

A Dream Come True
For several decades I’ve dreamt of visiting Lake Coeur d’Alene. This summer my husband and I stayed at Ted and Bonnie’s beautiful lake house retreat for four nights. The setting was gorgeous overlooking the lake through the plentiful windows and from both decks. ALL their amenities were appreciated, plus, the comfortable bed and lounging furniture. They’ve covered every detail for a memorable stay. Ted even added information to help us become familiar with dining opportunities and activities. Our visit was everything I needed it to be!!! I hope to return some day!

Ted was very kind and helpful; however, he was also respectful of our privacy and barely knew they were there. The house is gorgeous, with amazing views of the lake. Most of the time we utilized their awesome dock and had the best time. Definitely would love to return.

It is clean, comfortable and relaxing with beautiful views. We were looking for peace and quiet. We found it here. The decks have plenty of space with comfortable furniture. Our favorite spot was next to the outdoor fireplace snuggled up with a blanket. Such a beautiful space. Our only suggestion is new mattress set for the bed. There is a 1x4 between the box spring and the mattress for support. Other than that, it was a lovely, well done space. The host was attentive, kind and thoughtful. Thank you for the stay.

Lovely and quiet visit
We enjoyed our weekend getaway. The location is very private. Ted and Bonnie were very friendly, giving us a thorough tour of the property when we checked in. Since this was a winter trip for us we loved having the private hot tub, and also got lots of use of the fireplace in the living room area. (My only suggestion would be having a DVD player, as we’d packed movies to watch over the weekend while we snuggled into our getaway and we weren’t able to.) The home is gorgeous, with top end furnishings. Thanks for a lovely weekend Ted & Bonnie!! We enjoyed it!!

Best views on the lake
This is a truly beautiful property in a stunning location. The guest unit is fairly self-contained with direct access from the driveway. We chose the property because of the outdoor space and deck areas. This certainly did not dissapoint and in reality - much better than anticipated. Having a panoramic view from two decks gave us stunning views of the lake - in a way that the photographs just can't capture. It was a very quiet, peaceful setting to relax and unwind. Just perfect! The view was beautiful.
Per Vrbo's advertising the property would be very private. We were disappointed to find the host family was living upstairs. We could hear the talk, chairs moved on the floor and smell their meals. While we made the best of the situation, it wasn't what Vrbo advertises. The property could have been cleaner as we found issues. We let Ted the property owner know. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Exactly what we were looking for!
We wanted a property that was in the mountains but close enough to town with a spectacular view being a must but wanted amenities as well and fit our budget and we scored! This checked all the boxes! I had coffee out on the private deck in the morning right off our bedroom which was the perfect way to start the day for me. My other favorite thing was after hiking and exploring all day, we came back to wrap in a blanket on the other deck and enjoy the fireplace while watching the sunset and listening to the sounds of the lake and wildlife. The home is beautiful and exceeded our expectations! Ted and Bonnie were great hosts and Coeur d'Alene is nothing short of spectacular. We'd come back in a heartbeat!
