Inviting and Serene Home on Monroe Bay Creek

Welcome to beautiful Monroe Bay! Relax in the beautifully refurbished home, on the back deck, by the private pool, or by the water on the private dock. Bring your kayaks, boat or jet skis to explore the creek and local water way.

Located in a private community 2 minutes from down town Colonial Beach and just 2 hours from Washington, D.C.; 1 hour from Richmond, VA, and about 30 minutes from Fredericksburg, VA. The quaint Town of Colonial Beach has restaurants, grocery stores, breweries, a dog park, and public beaches.

Just minutes away is access to wineries (Monroe Bay, Ingleside, Back Porch, General's Ridge), State Parks (Westmoreland and Caledon), and historical sites (Birth places of James Monroe and George Washington, as well as Stratford Hall which is home of the Lee Family).

The house is equipped with High Speed Internet and two Smart TVs for your streaming needs.

Golf Carts (not included in rental): Colonial Beach is a Golf Cart community. There are rentals available and there is access to the town from the property, should you want an alternate way to explore the town.

Water Access: There is a small ramp for launching kayaks, jet skies, or small craft (e.g., john boats) on the property. For run-abouts and larger craft, there is a public ramp in the town of Colonial Beach (5 minute drive). The public ramp is free, but there is a fee to park. There is ample trailer parking at the property. Monroe Bay Creek is mostly brackish water, but once one transitions to the Potomac River, the water is salt and requires a Potomac River or VA salt water fishing license.

The Dock: There are 2 slips for docking watercraft. The creek is tidal and the water depth varies; average water depth is about 4 feet. Bring your own dock lines, bumpers, etc. You are welcome to crab and fish from the dock, so pack your gear. Please clean up any bait so not to attract gulls. Typical fish species caught include Perch and Catfish; occasionally Spot and puppy drum (late summer/fall).

The Pool: There is a private pool, gazebo and sun deck on the property. Four (4) pool towels are provided for your use.

Horses: There are horses adjacent to the property. They are not part of the rental, so please do not touch or feed. However, they are very peaceful to watch from the front of the house.

Our vacation this year was positively wonderful!!!! This stunning home and beautiful setting was one of the primary reasons! The home and property were pristine and beautiful! The location of the property is perfect; it is within minutes of stores but once you are at the property you would never know it. Make the turn off of the main road and you are in the 'country' away from any hustle and bustle. The property was lush and green, perfectly manicured and landscaped; the neighboring homes and property's are just as beautiful. Adding to the ambience was a neighboring horse pasture; the area was so serene, beautiful and peaceful! The pool area, gazebo and patio, were exceptional, too! We grilled and ate out by the pool every day. The community of Colonial Beach is quaint and beautiful. Shannon was GREAT!!!

Can I just start with WOW!! Upon arrival, pulling up in the driveway we were greeted by beautiful oyster shells decorated throughout the yard. I've never seen anything like it. Then going into the house, Shannon left me a personalized note with some wonderful chocolate. The house was immaculate and very clean. We all felt like we were at home because it was so cozy and had a home-like atmosphere. Overall it was one if the best vacation homes we've ever seen. Perfect family getaway
We loved everything about our stay at Monroe Creek. The house was extremely clean upon arrival and left nothing to be desired as far as amenities. The pool, air hockey table, and basketball hoop kept the kids busy and everyone enjoyed fishing from the dock. Colonial Beach offered great options for meals and treats, and groceries and bait were very close by as well. We would definitely recommended this rental to families and anyone else looking for a relaxing break.

Some friends and I booked this house for one of our friend’s birthday. The house and host are equally amazing! Shannon was extremely accommodating and very quick to respond to inquiries. The house looks just like the photos. Newly renovated, very clean and nicely stocked. The area has a small town feel with enough stores and restaurants nearby to get anything you may need. We enjoyed the views of the bay while we ate on the deck and relaxed poolside the rest of the day. I cannot say enough great things about our stay. It was a perfect weekend with friends for the birthday girl and the rest of the group. Definitely a 10/10!

Upon arrival we were all amazed at the beauty! And walking inside this place is so comfy and has everything anyone could need. We got our things in and headed to the beautiful and clean pool. From the moment you drive up, you are in love with the property...you see the horses across the street and water view even from the front of the house! When you open the front door, you know you have started your vacation! Beautifully decorated open floor plan gorgeous home! You would think you are steping into a model home! Super cleaned! Perfectly decorated. The kitchen is big, the island is huge, the table is beatiful and you have a great view of the water. Both sitting area and living room are perfect. The master bedroom is beyond perfect! View of the water from your bed, bathroom is spacious. The 2nd master is comftable, the kids room is great. This house has EVERYTHING YOU COULD NEED! The game room downstairs is phenomenal! Kids didn't want to leave lol Then you have the nice pool area, confy outside furniture, all with water view. You can also bbq in the nice size gas gril. The water was beautiful! We were lucky to have brought our kayaks! We had a blast. Kids also enjoyed playing basketball! I can not recomend this home enough! Loved it! Hope i can get to return. Oh...did i mentioned you are literally 5minutes from foodlion and McDonalds! Lol. You can't ask for a better location! Tons to do and near a lot of awesome places to go to! The owner is sooo sweet and is quick to answer any question you may have :-)

Amazing Weekend Getaway
We had an amazing stay with family. The view of the water on one side and the bucolic field with horses on the other is an incredible combination. Just moments from Colonial Beach and a short drive to other nearby towns, this place was perfect for us. We’ll certainly be coming back the very next chance we get!
