Cottage Next to the Creek in Historic Cascade Canyon At The Foot Of Pikes Peak

This fully restored Victorian cottage with outdoor hot tub is situated on the banks of Cascade Creek in the small mountainous neighborhood of Cascade which is part of the Pikes Peak watershed. Great views of the creek from windows in the sitting area and
views of the mountain ridges from the wrap around porch and the sleeping loft.
The cottage is at the rear of a larger property with a main house and carriage house and is surrounded by old growth forest. The grounds: large trees, flower gardens, and a private creek side mini meadow are yours to enjoy. The cottage has a wrap around porch with chairs and a porch swing to gaze at the gardens and an outside patio next to the creek with table, chairs, and charcoal grill.
The renovated cottage is really a "tiny house"( 500 sq ')with all space efficiently dedicated. There is a small sitting area, a dining area, compact kitchen (fully equipped with microwave, stove, dishwasher, fridge, and washer/dryer), small bathroom with shower, and a light-filled sleeping loft with large windows of the mountains, forest, and night sky. The babbling creek serves as a sleeping tonic.
Several trails are outside the front door-one of which, if taken to its limit, takes you to the summit of Pikes Peak. Wildlife, since Cascade is in the foothills, is common—bears, foxes, raccoons, bobcats, and deer.

Quaint little cottage
The property was clean, and beautiful. The vintage decor was an amazing touch. My teen daughter and I really enjoyed ourselves, the wifi slow and spotty which made our stay even more enjoyable because we had to put down the devices and reconnect with each other. The property manager was very helpful and checked in on us and even brought us extra blankets on one of the colder nights. The neighbor in the front was also very friendly. 10/10 would recommend!

Mountain Getaway
Overall a nice cabin and place to stay to explore the area. The couch unfortunately was not comfortable at all which made it hard to relax when not exploring. The hot tub was a nice bonus that we utilized daily. The stairs were mentioned in prior reviews so we knew what to expect. They are very tall and steep, which makes it a little challenging to go up and down especially with luggage. The grab bars on the wall were nice to hang on to so you felt safer going up and down. The owner responded quickly and was very nice. The grounds keeper was also very nice and brought us cookies for the Holiday.

Nice Little Cabin 4 Stars
This is a cute little cabin but there are a few issues that people should know about. First the wifi is very sub-standard. The host was very accommodating to allow me into another home to use the internet. This was wonderful but if you plan to work from this cabin it is not possible. I couldn't even bring up apps on my phone. I was at the cabin during a snow storm so it might be a different story in the summer. My second issue is that the queen size bed is very comfortable but the way the bed is situated my husband bumped his head several times getting out of bed because of the pitch of the ceiling. Also, it's important that folks know that there are some very steep stairs to get up to the bedroom. We didn't have any problems with them but children and folks with walking issues would have a problem.

Cute cozy little cabin
We enjoyed our anniversary trip to Colorado in this cute little cabin. They are located near so many things. It gives you the cabin in the woods feel, without the long drive to get there. 4 days was not enough time to get everything done that we wanted, so we will have to come back sometime soon.

Great little getaway
This cottage is very cute and quaint. It is small, but perfect for a couple's retreat. The cottage itself is nice. The stairs leading upstairs are steep but nothing that I would complain about. The cottage has everything anyone would need: shower, kitchen with stove and refrigerator, seating area with T.V. (even though it wasn't needed the whole time I visited), washer and dryer, etc.... The location is amazing with great scenery of the mountains and plenty of birdwatching available. We enjoyed the area with the couple of hikes right up the road (Hiezer trail and Mother's rest). Then we had other attractions in the areas such as Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, Cave of the winds, etc.... So many that we couldn't get to all of them in our time visiting! I would recommend this stay for anyone interested in a nice cozy little place that is located in the foothills of the mountains.

Cute and quaint!
We had a great stay. First and foremost, upon entering we noticed that it felt and smelled clean. It's nicely updated and very comfortable. This is not a negative comment, but it's just a fact. This place is small. The stairs are small, the loft ceiling is pretty short, and the door to the bathroom is less than 6 feet tall. As a very large man, (6'3" and 250lbs) I can say it was at times tight. Like I said, that's not a knock against it, just a fact of a pretty old building! The stream side setting was delightful, the area is really nice, and we enjoyed a walk up to mother's rest, which was really interesting. We came to hike the Manitou Incline, so having the hot tub was awesome after all that strenuous climbing! The location is great, with Manitou Springs, Old CO City, and Woodland Park all within a few minutes. We had a great stay and really enjoyed the house. Would definitely stay again if we're in the area!

Perfect Getaway
The cottage is very cozy for a couple looking to get away to the mountains. It has all of the amenities you’ll ever need while on vacation along with bonuses such as the bubbling creek and the hummingbirds that feed on the porch feeder. Excellent location and very relaxing.

Cute Place
It was a little tighter than we expected, we are both tall people and I think we may have hit our heads in the bedroom at least a dozen times a piece. But it was quiet at night and the creek was so peaceful. The host in the main house brought us a bottle of champagne for a wedding gift and that was so sweet.

Amazing location
This was by far one of the best vacations we had. The little cottage is a central location to so many hiking areas and attractions. Sitting in the hot tub and seeing the peaks was breathtaking. Our last night there we walked to Heizer Trail which is just past the cottage, and hiked up to one of the peaks we stared at every night. The cottage has just about everything you need for cooking as well. Would absolutely stay again, and we have already recommended to our friends and family!

Perfect getaway surrounded by mountains
We had a wonderful experience during our stay. Whenever we needed anything our property manager responded within minutes. The location was perfect; close enough to downtown that it was an easy drive while also feeling secluded. It was so peaceful sitting outside having coffee overlooking the stream and spending our evenings in the hot tub. Our favorie hike of the trip was when we walked out the front door and up the walking path to the mountains from the street! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay near Colorado Springs and the beautiful sights.
