The Hen House:
This farm inspired hexagon cabin is an open loft with two bedrooms upstairs, with the kitchen, living room and large bathroom downstairs. We have a ladder staircase to get up to the 2nd floor. Please refer to photos and make sure all guest in your party are comfortable using it before you book. Nestled at the bottom of Limbaugh Canyon in Palmer Lake, you are less than a mile from the town, walking distance to countless trails and only 20 minute drive to the Air Force Academy! Well-behaved dogs are welcome but we do require a $30/night/animal additional fee (2 dog max). We invite you and your family to come and rest in our nest!
Please note that the home sits on two large lots. The owners stay in the back lot of the property which is completely separated by a 6ft fence. The main home, gardens, and chicken coop are separate and private for the renters . Owners are available upon request if needed.
Come and experience our peaceful neighborhood surrounded by trees, beautiful gardens, chickens and organic veggie gardens. Don't worry, you can enjoy the chickens without the work! The home is an open and bright atmosphere full of handmade wooden accents. You can enjoy your morning coffee on our porch, take a relaxing bubble bath in the clawfoot tub, or get creative in our second bedroom art studio. The kitchen is equipped with pots, pans, and most cooking utensils. We also have a small fenced in area to put your furry companion in for the times you are out in town. We are just around the corner from The Historic Pinecrest event center and close to the Renaissance Festival.
Our neighborhood is a great place full of outdoor adventures with wonderful places to hike, fish and explore! In town, you can enjoy a cup of joe the local coffee house, get a sweet treat at the Rock House Ice cream shop, and rent paddle boards to enjoy on the lake . During the weekend, enjoy live music and drinks at the local bars, a lovely dinner and stroll around the beautiful lake! Palmer Lake is a great place for families to come relax, be outdoors and enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds it.
We are an easy walk to town (about 20 min) or a quick 3 min drive. We are about 10 minutes to I-25 and Monument and 20 minute drive to the Air Force Academy! We are located very close to The Historic Pinecrest Event center (about 8 minute walk). The Renaissance Festival in Larkspur is about 15 minute drive (depending on traffic) and you don't even have to get on the highway to get there! If you want to visit Colorado Springs it is a short 35 minutes to down town area. Denver is about 45 to 50 minutes depending on the area you want to explore.
