When I arrived, the manager was on the phone with a personal call. I had to wait for him to get off. When I got up to my room, it smelled heavily of smoke, even though it is supposedly a non-spoking property. When I tried to open the window, I noticed a large dead fly smashed into the curtain. Across from my room on the carpet was several items of trash. I went down to request a different room, There was nobody at the desk and I had to wait at least five minutes for him to return. He took me upstairs and we went to 3 other rooms until we found one that didn’t smell heavily of smoke (the secondary latch lock was broke on that room, but I said that was OK since the deadbolt still worked. He said he would get that fixed the next day which they did). I pointed out the trash on the floor and he said he would get someone to pick it up the next day. He could’ve easily picked it up himself. It was pretty gross, included a Q-tip along with other small pieces of trash. There was also cleaning supplies left in one of the rooms he showed me. I seriously considered moving to another hotel, but it was already evening and likely I would not have been able to get my money refunded. It was also a convenient location less than 10 minutes from my daughter’s school. Breakfast was also OK, though the fried eggs could be improved as they were rubbery and somehow had a crispy ridge along the edges.

FILTHY HOTEL. The front desk counter had a large fly zapper with several dead flies lying underneath it. We were assigned a room on the third floor. Coming out of the elevator, the hallway reeked, mostly of pot. Our room had cigarette smoke in it. We asked for and were given a different room that had a chemical smell, but thankfully not smoke. The bathroom had hair on every surface. Unfortunately, we paid in advance, it was very late, and we were too tired from traveling to search for a new hotel so we stayed the night. The only positives about our stay were that the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good. The second evening, we discovered my Service Dog was INFESTED WITH FLEAS! We were in the hotel room for less than 12 hours and my poor dog was covered in them. My girl is all white and I had bathed and groomed her the day before so I know the fleas came from this hotel. We rushed to purchase oral flea medication and shampoo, costing $90, and bathed her at my daughter's apartment. We checked out and left a message for the manager to call or email us, but we were not contacted. Additionally, when we moved from the smoky room to the flea-ridden room, I left an item behind. Staff couldn't find it in the first room, so I left my name & number in case it was found. At the end of checkout, I asked if it had been found. The clerk held up my item asking if it was mine. He stated that the previous shift didn't leave a note or instructions with it. STAY AWAY!!!

The property was very clean and portions of the room had been updated. Color scheme in our room was a little dated. Linens fresh and crisp. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was large and very clean. Plenty of towels. The hotel grounds were clean. The hotel is located on a side street with some small industrial type buildings but very open but we felt safe.

Staff was amazing and some of the friendliest of all the places we’ve stayed. Hotel is okay but the common areas could be cleaner. Room was nice and comfortable but the bathroom was in need of a remodel. Great location for fairgrounds or Crew Stadium. We would stay here again just based on location and the staff.
