Modern, spacious Loft with River View just off GAP trail

The Casselman River Loft is located in the town of Confluence nestled in the Laurel Highlands Mountains. The Loft is on the 2nd floor of the former Confluence High School building. The Loft is located near the center of the town along the Casselman River and just off the GAP bike trail.

The loft is entirely private but the rest of the building is occupied by Immersion Research, an outdoor gear company. Operations include sewing, light manufacturing, shipping, warehousing, offices, and a retail shop.

The Loft is brand new (finished early 2022) has huge windows, modern decor and is very spacious. Along with the river view, you can also see the old railroad bridge that now hosts the GAP bike trail. The trail access is a minute or two out the door.

The loft can accommodate up to 8 people. There are 2 bedrooms. One bedroom with a king size bed with full ensuite bathroom. The other bedroom has 2 queen beds and a full bath right outside the door. There is a comfortable queen size futon in the main living area.

The loft has an open floor plan in the kitchen/living/dining area. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you'll need. There is a smart TV and high speed, wireless internet. Verizon/Sprint/AT&T cell phones work well from the house. The house has central A/C. All linens and towels are provided. With 4 distinct seasons, the Loft is available year round.

Make a day swimming and boating at the Yough Lake just around the corner. Take a break from your ride through from DC to Pittsburgh on the bike trail or spend the day biking shorter routes in either direction. Kayak or pick up a raft trip in nearby Ohiopyle. Make this the perfect retreat for trips to the 2 Frank Lloyd Wright homes: Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob. We are centrally located to the ski resorts (Wisp, Seven Springs & Hidden Valley).

Whether you are looking for a romantic getaway, a family planning the ultimate recreational vacation or old friends looking for a quiet retreat our home is the perfect setting. Come back year after year and explore the wonders of the Laurel Highlands.

The door you may see in some photos is for a future deck. The door is dead bolt locked and can not be opened until the deck is complete.

Please note that access to the Loft requires climbing stairs. Lots of stairs!

Please also note that there is a security camera/motion detection light mounted over the front door that we use to monitor when the space is vacant.

This property is amazing! The best VRBO I have stayed at. The loft is spacious, very clean, and the location and view of the river makes it the perfect place. Convenient to bike on the GAP trail
My spouse & I, brother and sister—in-law enjoyed biking and hiking in the area end of September with leaves starting to turn. Visited Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob. Well-equipped kitchen with sharp knives and good cutting board and lots of counter space. Very clean and spacious rooms. The coffee nerds in our group loved the Ohiopyle coffee beans and the Cuisinart coffee maker with the rainforest drip. Streamed movies in the evening. Good Wifi.

Cool loft space with awesome view!
Kara has done an amazing job with this funky space in Confluence! We were unknowingly visiting just before the tourist season, which seems to start May 1, and therefore did not have many options for food and drink in town. Good thing the kitchen is equipped and the grocery store good, because we were able to cook breakfasts and one dinner ourselves. We did have a great time visiting the Wright houses, Fort Necessity (we love NPS sites), and doing some cool hikes near Ohiopyle. We hope to return sometime when more things are open to do some rafting and biking on the GAP. We will definitely stay in one of Kara's rentals when we do! Hopefully the Lucky Dog will be open next time!

Perfect
Me, my husband and two boys 7 and 9 stayed at this property for 3 nights. We also had my sister visit. She has two five year Olds. This place is super spacious. Big windows, tall ceilings, lots of room to spread out. All the furniture was clean and comfy. TV had all the channels you.could want. We have a pontoon boat. It was nice that they had parking for the boat and cars. Lots of space. We will be returning in the future.

Surprisingly spacious loft near Fallingwater
Everything was as advertised but I was happily surprised that it was even larger than I expected! Beds were comfortable with ample thoughtful touches such as soft blankets and sharp knives and a coffee grinder in the kitchen. There was nothing the host didn’t think of when stocking and outfitting this place. The river behind the property was beautiful even in early spring and it was well located for our visit to Fallingwater.
