StarField Cottage...The Perfect Cooperstown Dreams Park Getaway!

Located a short 8 minute drive from the famous Cooperstown Dreams Park, home of the world famous12-year old baseball tournaments.

Nestled at the foot of over 1000 acres of wooded hiking trails only 7 miles from Cooperstown Dreams Park & Brewery Ommegang and just 2.7 miles from the heart of Cooperstown is a charming 2-bedroom cottage, perfect for a family vacation or romantic getaway. Hike our logging road trail to emerge at Star Field overlooking the pristine beauty of Lake Otsego. Enjoy a glass of wine as you lounge on the cozy front porch or gather round the hearth of our hand-built stone fireplace in the spacious living room.

Star Field Cottage can accommodate up to 7 guests (up to 3 couples or a family of 6 and up to 2 well behaved and house trained dogs!) and is beautifully appointed with many amenities, including some local treats like fresh coffee roasted right here in town at StageCoach Coffee and some of the best selections of beer from our very own world renowned Brewery Ommegang! There is a huge glassed in porch for dining as well as an outdoor area for your BBQing pleasures. Our property has a logging road that takes you to the top of the mountain with breathtaking views of Lake Otsego and access to the many trails that will take you all over the mountain or into downtown Cooperstown.

The Star Field Cottage is attached to our 1820's farmhouse, but entirely private including a separate entrance and it's own paved driveway and beautiful front yard with stone wall, wildflower garden, aromatic lilacs and views of the enchanted forest.

Easily accessible to Clark's Sports Center which is a State of the Art fitness center, gymnasium & site of the Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Only 4 minute drive from downtown attractions including many great restaurants...Farmers Museum, Glimmerglass Opera House, Fenimore House Museum and National Baseball Hall of Fame. Historic Cherry Valley is only 7 miles north and also offers a variety of restaurants and arts programs.

Cooperstown is loaded with many other attractions than just the Baseball Hall of Fame. There are several other museums (Farmers Museum and Fenimore House) and also many restaurants to choose from. Outdoor activities are in abundance on and around Lake Otsego including boating, kayaking, swimming , hiking and biking. There two golf courses on the lake and both are unique and challenging for both beginners and experts.

This was a charming, cozy cottage with hiking trails in the back. It’s close to the Hall of Fame, restaurants, and shopping. The owner and his dog are very friendly! We will certainly stay here again.

What a perfect spot.
The house was just what we wanted. Close to town, walk out the door and start hiking, and of course Shoog the friendliest dog you will ever meet. Our own kids both two legged and four, had a blast. Scott was so attentive and helpful every second we were there while still giving us plenty of space. Would rent again in a heartbeat.

Cute and Cozy!!
My family had a wonderful time here while in Cooperstown for baseball. Very comfortable, and private home. Quick drive to CDP for games. Scott, our host, was so welcoming. He is very responsive and is nearby, should you need any assistance. His pup, Shug, is a gentle giant, who guided my kiddos on a hike up the mountain. Shug was a great bonus to our stay! Would definitely book here again!!

Cozy cabin with hiking trails behind
Rustic cottage with modern amenities and great hiking trails behind the property. We spent a long weekend and enjoyed the convenience of being close to Cooperstown (just a few minutes by car) but in an area with open space and hiking for our dog. The screened porch was a great place to relax for coffee or cocktails. The main bedroom upstairs is like a loft and does not afford privacy from the other bedroom. Not an issue for us but that might not be clear from the description. Scott, the host, lives in the attached house and was a friendly, gracious host.

Everything was very nice and Scott (the owner) remained in touch during our stay and was very accommodating (he said we were welcome to stay later than our 10am check-out time since no other guests were expected that day). Shoog, his dog, is GINORMOUS but friendly, and came to welcome us. Only issue I had - and this was my fault for not asking ahead of time - was the bathroom was on main floor and the bedroom was at the top of steep stairs. Since I have arthritic knees and regularly wake up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, that was a problem for me. But otherwise, everything else was fine. I especially enjoyed spending time in the screened in porch. Very peaceful (though I wish the house was farther away from the main road).

Cozy Cottage
The property was everything we hoped it would be! When we arrived, Scott's dog, Shoog, was right at the fence happily wagging his tail to greet us. Scott came outside, gave us the rundown on the property as well as the various hiking trails and made himself readily available to help with any questions we had. Dinner in Cooperstown was fabulous each night (pay attention to Scott's recommendations, he was right on!) and the hiking trails on property led to stunning views and some fun "surprises" cleverly placed along the way. We even got to take Shoog with us! Each night ended with drinks by a cozy fire that could not be beat! Overall, we recommend this place wholeheartedly for a quiet, comfortable, friendly stay. thank you AGAIN, Scott and Shoog!

Inviting New York Cottage
We enjoyed our stay. Scott and Shug greeted us. Scott provided info on the area and gave us great recommendations on places to eat. The cottage was comfortably decorated and clean and warm. Scott provided all the necessities in the kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom - lots of nice little touches like soaps and hand sanitizers and shampoo. And a plus for us were cold mugs in the freezer. Scott even shared some local beer with us. The hiking trail behind the cottage is also a plus for walking the dog. Scott has placed some whimsical artwork along the trail. He’s a great host!

Quiet and quaint
We stayed at Starfield Cottage while my son played in the tournament at Cooperstown's All Star Village. The setting was quiet and removed from the busier area of downtown Cooperstown which was what we were looking for. The cottage was clean, cozy and had everything we needed. Scott was a very friendly and gracious host. Shoog (his dog) was an added bonus! Would definitely recommend.

Nice summer cottage type of place just off a country road some 3 or 4 miles from Cooperstown. Property manager is a nice guy who’s helpful but not intrusive and the place itself is perfect for lounging about or hiking if you’re that type. Cooperstown is a great place for spending three of four days with everything from the baseball Hall of Fame to good restaurants to little parks tucked into little corners near the lake and the headwaters of the Susquehanna River . Recommended
