You'll feel right at home in this uniquely decorated and fun large one-bedroom condo. There's no 'standard-issue' furniture or decor in this vintage ski home! Complete with hickory table and chairs and original metal signs from Copper's ski trails, this condo will take the nostalgic Copper fan back in time. For those of you who remember Copper in the 70's, you'll love studying the old aerial photograph of Copper Mountain and the village.
But, please note that if you're looking for luxury or premium accommodations, Summit House is not the condo for you. The building was built in 1973 and has not changed much since. But, if you're looking for a convenient and roomy home for your fully-charged ski vacation, you'll love this unit. Most of our guests love the condo and its location - we have many repeat customers. But those of you who are happiest in upscale, luxury accommodations, then please check out the Cirque or the Cache!
Summit House lodge is located next to Copper Mountain’s lively Center Village and will be the perfect affordable home base for your ski vacation, without the ski-in, ski-out prices! Although you CAN ski-in to the building from the catwalk if it's a great snow year. Come ooooooonnnnnnn Ullr!
This is a one-bedroom, one-bathroom unit, and sleeps 4 very comfortably because it’s a generous 780 square feet. That’s about 200 more square feet than most other one-bedrooms at Copper. The roomy master bedroom has two queen beds and plenty of drawers and closet space for your gear. And, you'll enjoy the bedroom's seating area in front of the huge picture window with a breathtaking view of the famous Sky Chutes.
Unlike most standard condo living rooms, this ski condo has plenty of comfortable seating. You will sprawl out on the large wraparound couch and relax to watch your favorite TV show or movie. There are also two barstools at the kitchen bar, or as we call it - the 'chopping block'. (Is anyone else obsessed with the show, 'Chopped', or is it just us)?
If you normally stay in hotel rooms, you'll realize how much money you can save by stopping at Safeway or Walmart for groceries and cooking and preparing your ski-day snacks in your condo. You'll love the fully equipped kitchen with pots, pans, toaster, blender, and bakeware as well as dishware, glassware and utensils. We'll provide the sugar, salt, pepper and coffee filters and sometimes other random items left from previous guests.
The full bathroom offers a double sink vanity for convenience and tub with shower. We’re generous with our paper and soap supplies, so you won't have to make a run to the store to stock up for several days, if at all.
While a guest in this Summit House 'ski cabin' you'll also enjoy:
*Killer view of the Sky Chutes in the Ten Mile Range through new picture windows and from the balcony
*Free Wi-Fi internet access
*Your favorite programs on flat screen TVs in the bedroom and living room
*A convenient elevator or stairway to the third floor
*Coin-operated laundry on the second and fourth floors
*Free assigned covered parking for one car and a surface lot for extra parking
*Your own ski locker in the lobby
Summit House is just a few minutes from the lifts in the village center, but it’s set back a bit, so it’s away from the noise and bustle of the main village. You can actually walk to the catwalk in one minute and ski down to the Gem lift and take it up, and then ski over to the Super Bee lift. You'll see the logistics in our map, which is the last photo in the group of photos above. Or, you can walk past the parking ramp to the American Eagle lift in 3 minutes.
Although you don't need to drive to get to the lifts, Summit House lodge isn’t far from stops for Copper Village Shuttle. Look for the signs and wait a few minutes with your skis, and you’ll hop on the heated shuttle for free rides to lifts all over Copper Mountain. There is also an on-call shuttle service, the Copper Coach, that will take you door-to-door anywhere in Copper Mountain Resort.
And don't forget the Summit Stage, the county's free bus . This shuttle takes you off Copper Mountain to the Summit County mountain towns of Frisco, Dillon, Silverthorne, Keystone, and Breckenridge. You can hop off the Summit Stage and ski at Breckenridge, and Keystone. Or you can shop in small or large super-stores in Frisco, Dillon, or Silverthorne. You could spend hours or a few minutes finding anything you want in hundreds of quaint shops in Frisco. When you’re ready to get back to Copper, just look for Summit Stage signs and hop on. Totally free. Once you take the free Summit Stage shuttle to Summit County mountain towns, you just might wonder why anyone would bother to drive.
