Came to Corning, NY with a friend with the purpose of visiting the Corning Museum of Glass and the surrounding area. We are both in our late 60s and in good health. It served as our home base and met our needs very well.
The house is just a couple blocks from downtown Corning. We don’t mind walking, so we walked to downtown and to the Rockwell Museum from the house. It is an uphill walk going back.
The house was as advertised. There are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs on the second level, and the kitchen, dining room, living room and laundry are on the entry level. It is very clean, and nicely appointed. The kitchen had the essentials. The dining room table would easily seat 6. There’s adequate seating in the living room and a Roku tv. Each bedroom also has a Roku tv and a window air conditioner.
The bathroom has a shower and a vanity large enough to accommodate your toiletries when using it. It is very clean and well lit. Shampoo, soap and conditioner are provided, as are linens.
There were Keurig pods and granola bars, paper towel, toilet paper and cleaning/laundry supplies
The house is old, so the staircase is steep and narrow, but there is a very sturdy handrail.
Don responded promptly when I contacted him with a question and reached out to me once to see if we needed anything.
In short, I would highly recommend the house and would stay there again. It was perfect for what we needed. However, it may not be the best choice if you have mobility issues.
