Te Mata Lodge has only four self-contained cottages which are all separate and private in 10 acres of native bush, garden and rocky stream. Guests have free use of the BBQs, kayaks, wifi, river shoes for gemstone collecting and gold panning. This listing is for the two bedroom cottage, but there are also 2 two-storyed chalets and 1 one bedroom cottage - each with decks looking out over the river. Vistors are totally independent - cottage is fully self-contained - but owners live on site and are available for assistance if required. Cottage is serviced daily (unless we are requested otherwise), with fresh towels every two days.
Te Mata is centrally located on the Coromandel Peninsula and we provide helpful advise and a booklet with information about day trips and outings - as well as are happy to make bookings. Thames is 20 minutes to the south, Coromandel is 30 minutes north and Hot Water Beach is less than an hour to the eat (and we provide spades for digging you own hot pool in the sand).
Fishing and seafood gathering (mussels, pipis and oysters) at Mussel Point - just a few minutes from the Lodge.
Tapu, just 4 ks down the coast road has a pub (families welcome in the restaurant or garden bar), shop and art gallery.
