This property was once really nice, and while the lobby has been mostly maintained, the same cannot be said about the floors above. The corridors are dark, the carpet is stained, and the walls even have marks all over them as well as some poorly repaired holes. Our rooms had hair in one of the beds, holes in the walls of a bathtub, dank and musty smells. We felt nothing like we did on our previous trip 5 years earlier. The draw of this location is that it is right on the beach. But it is not worth it. We'd much rather drive some distance than to return here in its present condition. In addition, we were there as hurricane Beryl was approaching. Even after the city issued an emergency evacuation, the hotel was refusing to let guests check out without charging them the full cost. When we questioned why that was, a staff member told us that the owner ordered staff to stay on the premises during the hurricane or they would be removed from the schedule and go unpaid for several weeks. We were fortunate to have paid for the insurance through Expedia so that we could be rebooked at a safe location inland. We hated that others were not so lucky, especially the staff who need their jobs. This is truly the first negative review we have ever left for a property. We are usually very understanding of the struggle it can be to serve guests day in and day out. But we will never come back to this location. Even if they improved the facilities, we wouldn't want to profit that owner.

We almost cancelled out reservation due to some of the negative comments. I called ahead of time and those questions were explained and everything made sense. Had a fantastic stay...Balcony room, ocean view. We will definitely come back.

It had everything we needed for a weekend getaway. Perfect for the one who wants to get to the beach. We brought food for our mini fridge. And we found a local restaurant for fresh seafood. The room was clean and comfortable.

so overall a great value, rooms a/c was not working upon arrival which they moved us to a different room quickly. Allowing dogs is a great plus. location is fantastic, right on the beach. One let down was having to pay for parking even when we had a room booked, I have stayed in tons of places and they always give you free parking if your a guest staying there and it says free parking online??? 2nd downside was they told us we could only ust the pool until checkout time the day we left which is 11 and thats pretty bad.

Great location on the beach! This hotel has great potential. Nice linens, friendly bartender but it ends there. The building is patched together in such a sloppy manner it’s actually funny. Fake plants at entrance, decorative pieces in lobby with Marshals price tags shows a lack of professionalism. Restaurant closed the breakfast buffet and dinner service so make other arrangements. Again, this hotel has great potential due to its location on the beach. Dog friendly but expensive! Per dog per night.

What an Anniversary!
Anniversary weekend beach trip. Right on the beach convenient. Great food choices close by. Bed was comfortable and good air conditioning. Bathroom great vent, better than most hotels. Area in and around tub/shower needs updated and cleaned more. Towels and washcloths stained. Email prior to arrival was positive but desk staff bland at best, room not ready so given alternative. Alternative was by elevator, ice machine, someone’s party, can see through and under door and connecting door in room, lamp on desk dirty with mold, hallway floors dirty. Next time I’ll find a hotel or place with a better rating. The beach was the best part. We expect clean, quiet and welcoming hotels at the very least

This is the second time we stay here. We like this place because of how close it is to the beach and the pool they have. The rooms have been dirty both times we went there. The floor was filthy with trash around the beds and the sheet had stains. We paid $238 or so for one night and that was not worth it.
