Our room was filthy and smelled like urine. The bedding hadn’t been changed, and the curtains looked as though multiple people used them to wipe their…face. Wall repairs and paint were poorly done, exposing old paint and plaster from repairs. Essentially, aside from providing 4 walls and a bad mattress, the room was awful and gross. “Continental breakfast” was dry cereal, snack bars, and pastries. Staff were pleasant, however. We were sorely disappointed since we plan to visit often with a loved one across the road at the University.

Location is perfect for Costa Mesa/Newport/Manhattan areas. Site was clean, and parking was easy. Shower slider handle was broken, and shower head was needing to be cleaned/decalcified. All the lights in the room were really bright. Even the bedside lights were very bright. Would have been nice to have a low-light alternative, for the room. Staff was friendly but not super-engaged. Seems like they were feeling “obligated” to work there, or at least not excited to be there. Which is understandable, but makes a difference in feeling of hospitality.

I used this hotel so I could go to the Pacific Amphitheater and not drive home at night. The bed was xlnt, water heated up fast and had a rainshower, the room was clean, amenities nice and staff very friendly. I'd stay again for anything in the Newport/CostaMesa area.

Awful
The mattress cover was probably a full size on a king bed and didn’t cover the Mattress completely. Underneath the mattress was staid and the electrical outlet was not covered. We only stayed one night (because we arrived at 1 am and were too exhausted to find something else) and the front desk was not willing to help cancel the other night. These are very serious health and safety violations and the lack of help from the front desk just made it 10 times worse.
