Welcome to “The Gambrel House” a vintage 1970’s California architecture inspired retreat. If you’re looking for a weekend getaway from the city to enjoy some quiet time or a small campfire, this is the place! There is plenty of room for 1 or 2 families but still has a cozy vibe. Enjoy the large deck overlooking the lake or the side yard with fire pit.

Master suite with queen bed, sitting area and writing desk, with a large tiled shower in the bathroom with double vanities.
1 Guest bedroom with a queen size bed and 2nd guest bedroom with a full size bed under a twin xl bunk.
Close to FDR state park, the Flint River and Warm Springs Georgia.

We really enjoyed the weekend. We were close to Pine Mountain and Columbus for shopping. Callaway Gardens was also nearby for biking. It was a great weekend. Perfect for a weekend away with friends.

We stayed for a girls weekend in April 2023 and loved it! The house had a great mix of original structure with updated furniture and decor. All three beds were comfortable. Highly recommend!

We were staying at this house to visit Callaway Gardens that has 10 million lights for Christmas decorations it was simply amazing and so is this house the house was super clean very tastefully decorated and had anything that you would need even a Christmas tree that was gorgeous we loved it and I would recommend it to anyone

Unique, beautifully styled home perfect for a getaway
What a unique house... The architecture is not something we have seen, and the entire home was redone in light tones with accents of wood. The area was quiet, and even though it rained much of our stay, we didn't mind! The couches and pillows were welcoming and oh so comfy! Perfect place to curl up with a book. We did a bit of cooking during our stay, and the kitchen had what we needed to make our breakfast and dinner come to life. We hope to return with friends!

We had a great stay at The Gambrel House. From coffee on the deck, to fishing in the pond we made some great family memories. With 3 adults and 3 teens the property was spacious and cozy. A perfect home away from home. We will book again!

Clean house, with neighbors unseen behind trees and opposite a lake, quiet getaway was great!
This home was immaculately clean and with 3 bedrooms, there was plenty of space for the 2 of us to spread out. There were several throws/blankets for the chilly mornings, and although there were a few spider webs on the outside, the inside of the house was spotless. The home had linens, towels and hand soap, dish detergent, plates and silverware, cups and glasses and basic condiments. It's a great location to chill out and read a book, meditate etc. The nearest town is Warm Springs about a 25 minute drive, and it is very charming. We also went the FDR White House, which was very interesting. We drove about 35 mins to Carriage and Horses, fine dining, and absolutely excellent! The owner was very gracious and we'd recommend this VRBO if you're looking for a quiet, getaway in the country.
